I have a few.. these all pertain to my dad, who passed away in November 1999.
"Go Rest High On That Mountain" - Vince Gill
My dad and I both
loooooved that song. We had it played at his funeral. I can't listen to it at all now without crying. Heck, I can't even get through the first sentence without tearing up. The song itself is about death. I do still love it, though.. it really is a beautiful song.
"What a Wonderful World" - Louis Armstrong
Another one of dad's favorites.. and also played at his funeral. This one makes me teary, but, not from sadness at all. Instead, it floods me with happiness
"Old Time Rock and Roll" - Bob Seger
Oooooh the memories!! We had our extended family Christmas party at my house one year when I was a teenager. My dad had had a few beers and He and I danced our asses off to that song. I'll never forget that night. So, every year on his birthday, I blast that song and dance by myself.. and smile the entire time. Then, I get teary afterward..
Anything on the AC/DC album "Back in Black"
Dad was a huuuuuge fan of that album!
Ehh, what can I say. I miss my dad
