What to do about faulty e/s??? Please help!

I had an almost brand-new Goldmine that today, through no fault of my own, came out of the pan and broke into a million pieces! It wasn't even the metal pan that came out––that would have been o.k., as I could have just glued it right back into the pot...it was just the color itself that came loose and fell out like a big golden cow patty and broke on the ground! I used a business card to scrape up the pieces and pressed them back into the pan, but I quite honestly didn't pay $13.50 to wear dust and dirt from the floor on my eyes.

What do you guys suggest I do? I know MAC's customer service can take ages to get back to you about such matters...should I take it to the counter? I feel like they'll think I dropped it, because I've never heard of such a thing happening either and that's what I'd think if I were them. I really love this color, but I'm not willing to wear a broken-apart and dust-filled version of it...please help!

Where did you get it from? Even if it's going to be a fuss, I'd definitely take it back and request a replacement or refund. It wasn't LE was it?

Take it back to where you bought it. There shouldn't be a problem if you have your receipt. I took back a busted shadow the other day. (The customer said that it had been in her purse and it just fell apart).

Take it to your nearest counter...I have never had a problem exchanging a broken shadow, and I have never given any customer a hard time for doing so...why should I? You paid good money for that shadow...
