I bought goldmine eyeshadow a few weeks back, thinking ooooh I really want a gold

but heck, I cannot make this colour work for me.

I like to wear my eyeshadow as a wash of one colour over my eyes. Usually looks good, but this is just

too warm/too yellow or something........I am very pale, but love Cosmic, all that glitters etc......... Am most disappointed.

I keep paring it with warm colors such as mythology, bronze, mulch, soma silk, soft brown, expensive pink, sumptious olive.

i find it reallly yellow too but i hang onto mine in hopes i can make it work...

a couple ways i found to use it for nighttime summer looks are:
goldmine (inner) + paradisco (outer)
goldmine (inner) + humid (outer)

I use those colors too as well as cranberry and coppering to make my eyes pop. Sometimes I put my cosmic over it to make it stand out even more. It looks great.

I love goldmine. for a summer going out look you can use it with: amberlights, honey lust, woodwinked, mulch, satin taupe, tempting & carbon on your outer v.
I also like it w/ cranberry.
Play & have fun with the colors. Remember, it's only makeup. It washes off so have fun!!!

I had the same experience with Goldmine. I put off getting it forever, and then when I finally did, I was so excited because I thought I'd get a lot more wear out of it. Honestly, I've worn it about three times. I've found there is NO way I can wear it without some other shades. Definitely try it with some of the warmer colors. It looks super pretty with Bronze. I've also found it to work well with greens. I used it on the tearduct for the green look I did for St. Patrick's Day, and that was super pretty.

Thank god its not just me!!

I think the key is its not a colour I can wear on its own, it needs other colours with it. I wonder how it would do as a highlight colour for these greens and browns?

I think that would depend on how strong you like your highlighter to be and your skintone. I'm pretty fair, and I just think it would be too much for me. In fairness though, I always use really light highlighters (Phloof! and Nylon are my faves!). I like the brow highlight to really pop. I don't think it could hurt to try though. I know I need to play around more with Goldmine myself... I just always pass over it!

I know what you mean, I kind of want to get some use out of the poor thing , sitting there all lonely

I'm really fair too, and I think this is just too warm and yellow for our fair skintones.

May try it with other colours ,and as a highlight, see how I get on.

I hardly ever use Goldmine either. I found on my skin that it looked great with purples (Beautiful Iris, Satellite Dreams, etc) so maybe you could experiment with it like that. I have a FOTD/YT with it on here somewhere, but the look is the pic in my siggie.

I bought Goldmine e/s after seeing a you tube video where someone used:
Corn shadestick
Amberlights
Antiqued
Mulch

I have not worn it out yet but I tried it on one eye and it made for a bold look. You could go lighter or heavier on the shadows depending on what you are going for. But the colors together are a good combo

a highlight with a bronze smokey eye

with black liquid winged liner it gives the exotic cleopatra cat-eye look

and its cute as a shimmery warm gold highlight over blush, i like it over sunbasque for that golden goddess look thats hot for summer!

I use mine as an overall color and use Amber Lights in the crease and Rich Ground for liner. I really like it but it can be a little bright and wouldn't be for everyone.

I often where it in the the inner corners as it seems to make my eyes brighten. I love it with mythology. Mythology and goldmine is one of my "go to" 2-color combos when I want a simple, quick look. (I'm NW20/NW25 with brown eyes.) It always gets compliments and it's so simple.
