well, i was buying MAC in 1984 and there was no "collection" the way there is now. when the first retail location opened at the old Simpson's store in downtown Toronto, new products would appear as Frank Toskan developed them.
i honestly don't remember what the first "collection" - the way they are now - came out. (egads, i MUST be getting old!)
