What would you do with a very bright turquoise eyeshadow?

I just bought the most amazing bright and colourfull turqoise loose eyeshadow from Make Up Store. It's like a very bright and glittery version of electric eel. Or something like that.

It's so pretty, but I never wear blue, and I have absolutely no idea what sort of colours to pair it with. I am looking to maybe tone it down a bit. It's really a super bright colour.

If you wanted to tone it down a little I'd reccomend wearing it on your lid with a dark brown in the crease?!?

You could wear natural colours on the eye, and line the lower lashes with this colour.

You could also use something like Dazzlelight in the inner lid, your blue-ish colour mid lid, and something like Deep Truth in the outer lid/crease?

With super bright shadows, one thing I like to do is use it as an accent when I am doing a bronzy look. I'll wear bronzer on my face (with a bit of pink blush on the apples of my cheeks), and on my eyes I'll do the same bronzer in the crease, then use the bright shade right next to my upper lash line for a "pop" of colour. It's a really flattering look, especially with bright blues and teals.

I like to color my whole lid with a solid, bright color and stop at the crease, carrying no color up. I have deep set eyes. That way, you can wear really bright colors anytime.

I haven't worn my turquoise by itself yet, but I've put it over my Colourburst (Velvet Black) which gave it a mysterious black blue look (an experiment that worked!). I've also used it as a peekaboo crease colour above a matt black or dark brown.

i tend to wear super brights like that on my lid and then a chocolate brown or even taupe in the crease. for example i love to wear cool heat shadow, but it's very bright for work. so i put club shadow in the crease and it tones it down and makes the look more wearable

I just used a bright turquoise shadow the other day (Blue Sorcery actually). I tend to use bright colours as liners, especially on the lower lash line. For this shadow I used Flip on the lid with Buckwheat in the crease and Nylon (or Dazzlelight) to highlight, and lined the bottom with industrial eye pencil (light blue) with Blue Sorcery on top. I wasn't really 100% on Buckwheat and I'd probably try Antiqued instead, but the golds looked GREAT with it, so I'd recommend using it with golds.

^This is what I do with bright eyeshadows in the daytime as well, and I wear turquoise eyeshadow (Urban Decay "Peace") fairly often.

I also keep the rest of my makeup pretty neutral/matte when I wear bright eyeshadows. I often pair UD "Peace" with eyeliner & dramatic mascara plus 3N l/g or Sweetie l/s and no blush.

I just googled UD Peace to see how some people wear turquoise e/s, and I found this:

I really like this look but only for a nighttime look.

I have a bright turquoise (Aquadesiac), normally I wear it with a shimmery white eyeshadow (like Crystal Avalanche) in the inner half of the lid, and Aquadesiac on the outer half and Steamy in the crease. The look is a bit full on so not really suitable for day time but ok for going out!

I would use that type of turquoise in the evening wih a hint of silver. I would mix the turquoise with a hint of silver. I would wear a color like Carbon on the Lid. I would apply the turqoise to the middle to outer crease. I would had the hint of silver with a hint of carbon to the lid.

This is a great evening look.

All-over the lid with Carbon or Espresso in the crease and a pale gold or silver highlight like Electra or Gorgeous Gold. Pairing it with neutral shades will help balance out how bright it is. Turquoise looks good with warm and cool tones.

I love wearing a turquoise smokey eye - turquoise shadow on the lid with a dark colour (usually black) in the crease and outer corner of the eye, shimmery highlight on the inner corner.

It's quite a dramatic look, but is great for a night out!
