What would you do?

Maybe he's just looking for an at-work ally and sweet-talking you is part of the plot. IDK...The whole cell phone thing has me thinking that.

Sounds to me like he's just a really gentlemanly kind of guy, but maybe he does like you.

how much older? in years from yourself? if its significant maybe he sees you as a symbolic daughter? I know at my old job my boss's daughter was away from college and he was always really really sweet to me in that non-creepy way- bought me lunch, asked me how my day was, opened doors etc. Later when we talked at a company party he told me how much I reminded him of his daughter and that it was nice to have such a "bright spirit" in his life.

I'm not saying THIS is the case, but it was mine- but he was a lovely man- and was probably a catch in his day.

He is 15+ years older than me. He doesn't/never had any children. I'm sure he not looking at me in a daughterly way. He goes to great lengths to make sure no one sees him paying for me. I guess I'll just ride this one out. On my way home from work today, I called him on his cell phone and he seemed pleased. We chatted for 15 minutes. And he said "now I have you" (cell phone #) and I'll store it in my phone. I must say it's really refreshing to be around a man that holds doors open/pays without issue/always glad to see/talk me.
Thanks for your opinion, I appreciate it.

OK. So, he just sounds like an older, interested man with a lot of charm. But, if he had one number, why was he so pleased to get the other?

I think he's really being cautious because we work together. But I also think when he gave me his cell number today that he wanted me to call him. He said, "Call me anytime." So, like I said, I'll see how this plays out.
