whats the DARKEST brown e/s by MAC?

I've been looking at the swatches on MAC's website but they don't really help

any recommendations would be appreciated

From the permanent collection I would say either Brun or Handwritten. Dark Edge from the N Collection is (LE), but worth checking out to compare. MAC Pro has one called Ground Brown; I haven't seen it in person, but there are swatches on this site. Another good one is Showstopper, sadly is was (LE) but is was a very dark brown, almost black. Hope this helps.

Brun is the darkest I have found in MAC, and its deeper than the new Dark Edge. It's matte. An even darker matte brown is Estee Lauder's MINK, its a rich matte great for the crease or eyeliner.

Embark is too reddy brown... and I don't think it's the darkest.

I agree with codename_psilla... Handwritten is very dark. It's a Matte2 and it really goes on with a lot of colour. Brun is dark too.

I also like Showstopper and Dark Edge. I have back ups, since they are LE.

Showstopper. Hands down, so dark it almost looks black.

I think Brun and Handwritten are it. They are both cooler dark browns. I don't know of a warmer one, just in case you might be looking for that.
