what's the difference

What is the difference between a freestanding store and a prostore?
Can anyone shop at both? I went to a mac store in the city and tried to get mixing medium and the guy told me that they only sell it at the pro-store. Would I be able to go and get it myself? Thanks for any info. =)

Yep anybody can shop at pro stores, basically they just sell more stuff than a normal store/counter. Its the only place to get pro products such as pro pigments, mixing medium etc
