does anyone's shadestick not glide as nicely? i have 2 holiday sets, and i noticed that Taupeographic doesn't glide - i'm pretty rough on my eyes when i try to use this. all the other colors glide.

what should i do? i don't want to be rough with my eyes (don't want more wrinkes) but i don't want to toss Taupeographic aside.

i had the same problem with fresh cement when i first got it, so i started using a brush (i use 242) with it and it worked wonders! hth! =D

Re: what's wrong with this shadestick?

I have problems with quite a few shadesticks but what I'll do is heat it with the hair dryer about 10 - 15 seconds and then use it.. goes on really smooth and really nice

hope that helps

Also, be careful to completely snap the top on otherwise it will dry out & become extra hard on your face (watch this with the cream lip liners & technakohls too)

I think some of them are just stiffer than others. The Sea Me shadestick really tugs at my eyelid, whereas the Beigeing is so smooth. I use the back of the hand method as already described, but it's not perfect.

Texture of Shadesticks

I have a shadestick in sharksin. Is the texture of it meant to be really firm. I find its really hard and hurts my eyes when I apply it as I have to press so firmly with it to get it to draw. I've tried softening it up with a hairdryer first.

Do you make sure to "double click" the cap when you're done with it? Some have experienced issues with them when they're not closed properly and air dries them out.

Some are softer than others. I have the copper one and sea me which are both really smooth, but I tried shimmermint and sharkskin which are grittier. I think the shimmery ones are harder than the metallic ones.

I have noticed the same thing. Silverbleu and shimmermint are so hard to put on, and I don't care for the texture as much. Wet cement has a great texture though! So does royal hue

Re: Texture of Shadesticks

i always heat my shadesticks with a blowdryer. helps them go on much smoother. just be sure not to melt them!

Re: Texture of Shadesticks

i noticed that too. i pat some UDPP on my lids before applying the shadestick and it somewhat helps in the application (makes it smoother)

I have come to the conclusion that I have failed to put the top back on properly and it has dried out. I might have to invest in another one and test it out again.
