Whats your money worth?

From the article~

What your money will buy

· £27 could buy seeds and tools for one farmer to cultivate half an acre
· £52 could pay for agriculture and soil management training for five farmers
· £117 could pay for a field trial and one cultivating season for one farmer
· £280 could help support five farmers with cultivation in one rice-growing season

Now i use dollars, but I know the above amounts aren't very much... Reminds me of an article that I read that says if you have $2000.00 saved, your wealthier than 1/2 the population on the globe.

Intersting how skewed our priorities at times, compared with most of the planet.

it's sad to think that some 50%-70% of the globe is living in poverty. it does make me worry about why the fuck am i spending money i don't need to on myself when some aren't even eating one meal a day? i like to think i'm balanced out, that i help people while i "take care of myself" but it's only my justification for my selfishness. what else you know? it's like survivor's guilt, but we're all still alive, just some are barely surviving, and some are better off.

If you want to actually get someone something, www.thehungersite.com has a bunch of stuff and the money goes to help fight hunger. You can also shop in their other sites that have various items to other causes (literacy, rain forest, animals.)

They are legitimate, suprisingly
