When Was Reality > Expectation?

When has a product(ideally a MAC one) not only met your expectations, but actually exceeded them?
Examples from my own personal experience, in no particular order:

Subtle pigment: I LOVE this color(so flattering for green eyes), the shimmer, the creamy texture
Pomposity lipstick: I love brights, especially with frost
Rocking Chick lipstick: See above.
Blacktrack Fluidline: Goes on smoothly, looks surprisingly soft, wears great.
Lustrewhite Lustreglass: The absolutely perfect clear shimmery moisturizing gloss
Wild 'Bout You lipstick: Exquisite shimmery berry for the fall season
Lovemate lipstick: The PERFECT rose

Last, but far from least, Coco Pigment! God must have created this cool brown especially for me.

Bring it back, MAC! I'll beg, I'll grovel, I'll lick your feet-I mean, hands ...

I wanted Subtle sooo bad but I have a jar of Sunnydaze I haven't even touched so I didn't get it. But it sounds like it's everything I thought it would be

My list would be (in no particular order of importance):

1. Palatial l/g (I love this)
2. Glitz&Blitz f/l (I haven't tried Blacktrack yet could get bumped)
3. Woodwinked e/s (it's like buttah)
4. She Boom lip gelee (my first lip gelee, love the way they feel!)
5. Mothbrown e/s (lot of hype on this one - looks amazing on me

)
6. Cocomotion p/m (love it more and more each and everyday)
7. Russian Red l/l *(perfect red)
8. Shroom e/s (I totally get why it's a staple for so many)

I have a few things that I love and could not live without:

1. Studio Fix Fluid Foundation - my skin is clearer than it has ever been. NW15 is a perfect match for my skin, and it keeps my oilies under control.

2. Blacktrack Fluidline - LOVE this stuff. It perfectly finishes off any look. So smooth and it applies like butter! The blackest liner I have come across and it is amazing.

3. Blushbaby Blush - This is a perfect natural flush look for me, and it is perfect for daytime with just about any eye/lip combination. I am SO glad this is permanent because I use it almost daily!

4.Tendertones - I was planning on passing on this collection completely. Then I decided to just get one. Well, I loved that one so much that I bought 6 more! I love them for a hint of color, the shine and the fact that they have SPF without the SPF taste!

5. High Tea l/s- This is the perfect nude beige color on me and I love the shine it has without having to wear gloss over it.

6. Plink l/s - I love this shade of pink when I want a barely there lip with a little pink.

7. Graphic Brown Fluidline - I love this rich chocolate brown liner with awesome shimmer! I have slowed down my using this since it was LE and I don't have a backup but I love it and will be thrilled if MAC ever makes it permanent!!

8. Vanilla and Silver Fog Pigments - I love these both as highlighters, mixing with lotion, etc. I got samples of both at first. Loved them so much, I already bought a full size jar of Vanilla, and will pick up a full size of Silver Fog when it repromotes with Smoke Signals in a few weeks.

I've got two almost-full jars of Subtle, one of which has never been opened.
PM me if you'd like for me to send you a sample.
Otherwise, try "Mauvement," which is currently available with the Rushmetal collection. It's kind of similar to Subtle, but darker, I think.

Let's see....

1) SFF foundation- perfect for summer oilies, covers incredibly, & people always tell me how flawless and natural I look, despite being a full coverage foundation
2) Fix + - just bought this recently and love it. it really does help the makeup last esp. when it's 95 and 90 percent humidity outlike now!
3) Loose Blot- same as above plus gives an airbrushed finish
4) Ether Mineralize shadow- now I am not into blues at all, but this is just stunning on my brown eyes
5) Smokey Eyes palette from Holiday '06- I use this all the time, it's the perfect palette IMO
6) Pink Treat cremestick liner- I know it's a boring lip liner, but it was really hard to find the perfect pink and this is it...in fact all the cremestick liners wear like a dream
7) Technakohl pencils- super great long wear formula

Nightfish fluidline, black liquid liner is usually way too harsh looking on me but this is a "soft" black, perfect for me, wish it wasn't LE

Sketch eyeshadow, I was a bit afraid of it at first but holy awesome it makes my eyes pop like crazy.

Satin Taupe eyeshadow, looks kinda boring in the pot but on it's the most perfect and versatile shadow I've ever used, can't get enough of it.

Pompous Blue – Perfect Teal; shadow goes on like butter.

The whole 2006 Nocturnelle collection. BLEW ME AWAY. Never had such beautiful colors to complement my skin. Especially Rouge Noir Lipstick – Got 5 tubes of this! Is that enough? No. I guess I’ll cry when they’re all gone! And I’ve never seen it at a CCO. I’ve been trying to find a color like this since Fashion Fair discontinued a similar color in the late 80s!

Blacktrack Fluidline. I wanted something that wouldn’t fade and stayed on ALL DAY. Had tried Pointblack LLL and never could master the clean, straight line with it. I kept seeing Blacktrack being used in FOTDs and decided to try it. Haven’t looked back since.

Diana 1 Quad. The most blendable, color-flattering colors in one location.

Polish Me Pink LV – The most perfect pink I’ve ever worn. Love, love, love it. Got 5 tubes. Used up 1 ½ so far. Will cry when this one is gone, too.

C-Shock Collection – The most perfect bright, primary color eyeshadows I’ve seen since the 70s. Can’t get enough of wearing these!

Zandra Rhodes es palette – A palette of bright, blendable colors. When I’m in a hurry in the morning or I need a pick-me-up, this is my go-to palette. Perfection in the palm of my hand.

Entremauve and Smoke Signal Piggies!! All I can say is WOW, WOW, WOW!!

Metal Rock MSF! Purchased this from fellow Specktra member, midnightlouise. This is the most beautiful MSF for my NW45 skin…..Perfection in application, perfection in flattering my skintone and perfection in contouring…..Cannot say enough about this product. This is what a MSF should look like on dark skin….

Okay….I’ll stop drooling and end it here. But there are many more products that MAC has created that exceeded my expectations! I could go on and on…..

Graphic brown fluidline - I have light eyes/light hair, so I feel like this looks more natural on me than blacktrack, and it stays put.

Relaxing eye shadow - I bought this basically on a whim, and its definitely my go-to lid color, I'm almost out, which makes me really sad.

Wonderstruck lustreglass - This is an amazing summer color on me, I don't like pinks on tan skin, but this has enough of a coral color to it to make it look more natural. LOVE it.

Elle lipglass - so sad I lost mine. I still have a phosphorelle, but I'd rather have the original.

Lucky Green - makes my eyes look SO blue.

Teal pigment - when used it small amounts it really makes my eyes pop (its basically my eye color).

Quick Frost Pigment - The white I've been SEARCHING for <3

Vanilla e/s - I've never found a more perfect e/s for a natural look. It helps me look awake without overdone.

Bare Canvas paint - Also great for the "I have nothing on" look.

Angel l/s - It looked really bright in the tube, but when I put it on it was the perfect subtle pink.

Blacktrack f/l - I've always been an idiot when it comes to e/l but this has turned my make-up around... if I want any kind of definition, I can't not wear it.

Luna ccb - It makes everything from pigments to lipsticks more intense, and has essentially revived shadows I thought were lacking in pigmentation. Perfect.

Don't Be Shy blush- I knew it was a pretty pink, but I had no idea it would _the_ perfect pink for me.
Same with Sweet & Single, it's my favortie lipstick since it came out; which is saying something because my favorites change monthy.

SunnyDaze pigment. I can wear it with almost everything, and it makes my eyes look fantastically green.

Desirious
blush, it's a pretty color in the pot, but it's amazing on. And I wasn't expecting to love a coral so much.

Lightscapade MSF, I love MSF but this one is the best. I use it all over for a subtle glow, and it really works.

And I have to say Touchpoint and Pink Edge from In 3D. They feel so moist, and make an amazing shade of pink that suits me perfectly. I thought I'd like them, didn't realize I'd adore them.

I agree with the pigments: coco & subtle...I wish they would make more of the "creamier" texture pigments, or at least make them permanent! I also love the fluidliners, as I can use them to line or as a base!

Only a few things have exceeded my expectations, because I have high expecations from MAC anyway -

Select Sheer Pressed - I put this over my foundation and it gives the most flawless result...it's super milled aswell so it never looks cakey or fake. Makes my skin look like china.

Smolder Khol - I cannot live without this! Intensly black soft khol, blends very easily...the perfect eyeliner.

Oyster Girl Lipglass - This is just the perfect pearly cool beige with some pink undertones. Instantly makes your makeup look polished and glam...and really suits my colouring.

'X' Macara/Black X - I have quite long thick eyelashes, and most mascaras give me an unnatractive clumpy/false look, so I adore this as the texture is very soft and conditioning and it thickens and lengthens lashes but still looks natural and soft.

Springtime Skipper eyeshadow. I thought it would be a cute, fun eyeshadow; it's become a staple, and my husband says "wow" every time I wear it.

Cosmic Eyeshadow. I am so going to regret not getting a back up of this. It's beyond perfect and my HG gold.

Tenderling Blush: yeah, ordinary in the pan, and such a perfect neutral blush color - perfect on my skin during winter.

My MSF natural totally blew me away! I use it as a finishing powder with my Clarins fndt and it was just a miracle... It gives me flawless skin and keep the oilies at bay.
