Which brush do you prefer for blush, 187 or 188?

I like more definition with my blush, and currently have the 169 from the Icon collection. I am considering getting one of the stippling brushes, either the 188 or 187. I am leaning towards the 188 after reading how others prefer a smaller head for blush application. I already have a foundation brush and a kabuki for all-over powder application so I guess that can substitute for the 187? Now I wish I have another brush I can use with blush and light application of MSF. Not sure if I am using my 169 brush right, but I think I can't control it enough to put blush where I want. Plus I find the 169 picks up too much product. Any recommendations please...

well, i have the 187 and its too big for blush application. Since the 188 is smaller, i would pick that. Its a good brush for a highly pigmented blush that you dont need much of. hth

i agree that the 187 is too big.

i use either the 116 for powder or the 168 (i think, the white fluffy angled one) for creme.

Yea I would get the 188 for blush. I have both and I wish there was one in the middle because I find that the 188 is *too* small. it's not fluffy enough for me.

In my opinion the 187 is great to use with blush if you want a really natural wash of colour. I tried using smaller brushes and my blusher did not look as natural anymore and a little streaky as well.

I have the 187 and 188 and personally I prefer to use the 188 for blush, just because its smaller, the 187 is nice for sheerer applications though, if you know what i mean lol

Ok, I may be in the minority but I actually use the 187 for blush and the 188 for foundation lol. Here's why I prefer it this way:

187 - Although this is great for foundation, I find it difficult to get into smaller areas such as around the nose, eyes, mouth and chin. I use this for powder blushes and I find that it delivers the perfect amount of pigment onto my cheeks (without spreading the color too far off my cheeks) - it gives a great, even flush of color to my cheeks and blends it in like a dream

188 - I know most prefer to use this for blush but I find it to be too small and streaky. Although this is better for creme blushes if that's what you use. I find that unless I want my blush to be very defined (i.e. in a strip-like shape much like contouring), the head is a little too small for me. I too wished that there was a size in between the 187 and 188. Now the reason I use this for liquid foundation instead is that I find it to give me control of how much I buff into my skin (some areas of my face need more coverage than others)..and it also fits in smaller areas of the face much better for a even airbrushed look.

Just my opinion though

For MSFs or bronzer, I use the 187.

For blush, I use a Flirt skunk brush, which is closer in size to the 188.

Agree, I think the 187 can be a little more versitile if you use it well. I watched this podcast video for a fashion show forgot which one but the MA used 187 for foundation and blush and it looked great.

This is where I am with the two. I plan to invest in another 187, I use it for so many things. It applies Mineralize Satin Finish Foundation really well. I use mostly circular motions to work it into the skin. I tried the same thing with with full coverage (I first spritzed the face with FIX+) and it resulted in a beautiful smooth finish.
