my delima:
i'm from missouri and had been wearing studio fix for about 8 years with no problems. i moved to south fla and it was all of a sudden too heavy for me so i bought the mineralized foundation... lately i feel like i'm almost packing it on to see anything (i know loose powders are more for a sheer look) so an MA told me to try studio mist..
if anyone's used it, what is your take on it??

i´m loving the hyper real foundation

IMO it´s far less heavy than studio fix, it goes on really smooth & has good coverage. it´s my favourite MAC foundation & I use it daily.

Is studio mist the one that you spray on? If so, I didn´t like it very much, it´s very light & as far as I know it doesn´t have a sunscreen.

HTH a least a bit

I like Studio Mist because it is such a minimal foudation
but the colour range is so limited,
I have to wait til the dead of winter to be able to reach for it again
(I have Studio Mist in Medium)

i'm confused about what you are looking for.

studio fix is too heavy, but you're packing on the loose mineralize. what kind of coverage do you want?

if you still want to use studio fix, use a brush to get more of a medium coverage, rather than the sponge, which gives full coverage.

well, the loose mineralize foundation is medium to full coverage (definately not meant for sheer coverage-not all loose powders are), which is the same as studio fix. how were you applying it? to get the most coverage, use the caplicator or the #191 (yes, its a liquid foundation brush, i know). if you want sheerer coverage with it, use the #150.

studio mist is sheer to medium, has a crappy color range, and is being discontinued.

i pretty much stated what i'm looking for. i'm looking for the in between and was told by an MA that studio mist would be the in between for me that's why i'm asking for feedback about the studio mist. i don't remember saying i still want to use studio fix, which i believe is what i said above and why i haven't worn it since last december. and i was using a brush with the studio fix and it was still too heavy. the mineralize is too sheer for me. and mineralize does not have the same coverage, for me, if it did, i would just go back to studio fix which is not what i want to do.

i don't remember the MA saying anything about it being discontinued. whatever the case, as long as it's not before i go buy, i'm good

They're not gonna suddenly disappear. They are being phased out though. I agree with you though that despite what the MAC claims are about Minerlize loose, it just feels like not enough coverage for someone who's used to wearing Studiofix. If you dont mind the luminescence in it, try Hyper Real first by itself and then with a light application of the mineralize you already have (applied with a buffer brush) and see if you like the amount of coverage you get. Good luck with the change.
