I love the atmosphere and the job pays well considering what I was being paid at New York & Company (a.k.a Hell). Anywho a high school in the Tampa area had their prom about two weeks ago and I did a few girls up. I had a blast working with them and one of them sent me a message on Myspace yesterday:

I don't know if you remember me but I remember you! You made my face up for Prom like two weeks ago. I just wanted to thank you so much for making me look so gorgeous. I recieved SOOOOO many compliments and many of my friends didn't even recognize me.

Your probably wondering how I found you and I don't even remember :.) but i just wanted to thank you!

My heart's in a puddle at my feet right now lol.
This is why I love doing makeup....

Congrats -

Side note - I was talking to a lady the other day who said she used to work for Fashion Fair back in the day and that they had the best food at their updates. We were all cracking up cause where we got deli sandwiches they got collard greens, corn bread and fried chicken. DAYUM - that sounds the bomb!!!!

My old trainer said when she contacted the hotel resturant for an Update, she had an option for a lunch similar to that! She said, "After lunch I would be talking about the Spring Collection and all of y'all would have been asleep!"

Wow, that's fantastic! It always lifts the spirit when someone recognizes and appreciates us for our work. I'm happy for you that you had the pleasure of experiencing that! Keep up the good work, girl!

Knowing you made someone's day at work is so awesome. I helped a woman with terribly hyperpigmentation and burn scarring find a foundation that matched her and covered her problems well, and when i turned her around to face the mirror she was so overwhelmed she was crying. It almost made me cry, it was really touching. Things like that really make my job worthwhile, even on a day where i've touched so many picky people's faces that I could scream...things like that just bring it all back full circle.

The stalker bit flashed through my mind at first glance but I shook it off!

But yeah like MakeupPixie said an experience like this can really bring you full circle. Kind of makes you forget about the sales goals and not so nice customers.
