I hate this feeling. I have tried so hard in my bio 3 class, but I don't think I will make it. Its such a depressing feeling, I have to retake the class next spring. I was good in bio during hs but as I was trying to study for our next exam which is like in 2 weeks I am just so confused and so unmotivated.

I know the feeling i had a hard time with bio but battled on coz i didnt wana drop out of it, i got a crappy E which kinda overshadowed my other grades but oh well, if you feel you cant cope id advise you to take action as u dont want it to effect the rest of your studies,

I've had to do this a few times and yeah it's a sucky feeling. But it's better than your GPA dropping when you know you can do alot better or get help.

I suggest dropping out if you really don't think you can handle it! When you retake it maybe you can get a different teacher who explains things better and you'll be in a different mindset for it. You could always consult a school advisor or counselor to see what they say about it, too!

Good luck with whatever you decide!

Drop out of the class. A low mark is worse than a withdrawl. It's good you're recognizing when you're overwhelmed. My GPA got hurt when I was too stubborn to realize that

Be thankful you can withdrawl.
Since I was in Honors, my school would not let me withdrawl from any class-regardless if the reason. So when I realized that taking 22 credits, working 3 jobs & writing my thesis was too much to handle and driving me to nervous breakdowns & suicide, I wasn't able to do anything about it. When it was said & done, my GPA that semester was 3.19, which totally brought down my overall GPA to like 3.6 or something. It was 3.89 before. I busted my ass to bring it back up my last semester, but I ended up missing Magna Cum Laude by .01 at graduation.

I'm sorry, but an "E"? What is that? What percentage is that?

I had to do thtat in advanced statistics - I had to fly home for a death in the family, and my husband had to come back from Iraq for the funeral. I was so depressed at the time I returned to my class - when I got back after missing 2 out of 8 weeks, I couldn't keep up. However, when I retook it (and I was struggling before) I got an A. It was so much less stressful the second time along.

Take the class until the last possible day, and then withdraw. That way, you know exactly what to expect. Save all of your notes, quizzes, and homework.

It sucks now, but believe me, you'll be glad you did it. As others have said, save your GPA.
