why do they have 2 names though? i know it may sound like a dumb question, but why not just use the final name overall?

they come up with a working name based the the color/inspiration/etc. then, when they come up with the collection name, they change the working name to fit the collection name.

take marque from monogram for example. its similar in color to VG V, so, while they're coming up with the collection, they refer to it as VG V. then, once they have the idea down for the collection, they chose the name marque as the final name because it fits the collection theme better.

they do this with everything. clothes, cars, food, businesses, etc.

um, no. i guess this caused more confusion then it did to clear things up.

lets use this as an example. take the pink blush from "red" she said. when they came up with it, the color reminded them, or was inspired by, afterdusk from moonbathe. so they gave it the temp name of afterdusk. after the collection was finalized, they took that temp name, afterdusk, and renamed it stark naked-a name they thought fit the collection name/concept/theme better.

they're different colors, but have some similarities, which is why the "old" name was used temporarily. sometimes the working name is one they haven't even used before, but they end up changing it anyway to something that fits better.

does that make more sense?

i wasn't working for mac back then, plus they didn't list all the WN/FN in the update book back then so i have no clue. it sounds like that would be it, but i'm not for sure. sorry luv.
