would you want pigment vials permanent?

I wouldn't sign it

in fact I'd write mac saying not to change it, I have the pigments and have been using them for years, I've never had a problem as I have all of my pigments stored in sample size containers for daily use, and in which case if one of them were to spill it wouldn't be the end of the world.

if you don't like it don't buy it. I'm not saying it to be rude I'm saying it to remind you to think of those of us who are happy with the way things are as I doubt mac would willingly sell both a vial size and a normal jar for more then the one time a year that they do without some sort of price change.

try thinking of a different way to store it your self.

mac also gives samples of their pigments (why buy samples?)

I hate the shape of the vials, but if they could do pigment in the same shape of container but 1/2 the size it would be perfecto! But they should keep the regular size pigments also. yano.

I would sign if they also kept the jars. There's definately too much pigment in one jar for one person (not a make-up artist) to use it up. The vials are just the correct size. As for the packaging, the vials are a pain in the a**, that's why I put some pigment in a sample jar and store the rest.
I'm just afraid that the pricing of such vials wouldn't be attractive.

@bebs: I think MAC gives pigment samples only in NA. In Europe, they never do, even if you spend a lot.

i think its a good idea though i do like the jars. i had jars dropped before and it broke my heart but at least there was plenty left over!
i do not think they would be priced well though and i hate to buy things in sets so i am not sure

Well it's very simple- A half jar. What do we trade samples in? One of those minerals jars.
Vials are horrible; leave them for Holiday and ripping people off on Ebay.
Half jars for most of us and full jars for pros or people who like to cook- I have a jar of matte Marine Ultra, some micas, and bad intentions...

I'd buy a set of half jars, or sample jars. But vials are horrible. I suspect there's a dumb-brother-in-law deal on packaging involved there.

Sets of samples in JARS or half JARS would get my dollar. And a limited release/ bulk situation would or SHOULD keep the cost down to reasonable.

OR...better yet what if there was a vial palette of sorts, kind of like the Messmix from Cueberry:

You could build your own palette of pigments as you do with shadows.

LOVE the build-your-own palette idea. I've seen a packaging like this at a local craft store, and could probably just dump my vials into those little containers. Much easier!

I'd sign for vial sizes... or half jars. I think that pigments should come in multiple sizes - I'm sure there will be buyer's for each.

would be fun if they just had huge tubs of pigments, and they scooped out however much you wanted into a jar and sold it to you by weight.

I'd love if they became permanent. I'd never get through a whole jar but the little vials are perfect :)
