Wouldn't it be nice if MAC made a PRO palette that could fit blushes & shadows!?

So whenever I travel I have to pack my MAC and preplan my colors because I can't take everything with me. Anyway, I was thinking that it would be a WONDERFUL addition to MAC's palettes it they made one that could fit like 2 blushes and 6-9 shadows. It could be the same size are their 6 and 15 pan ones. Anyway...it was just a thought because it would make packing my MAC so much easier and travel friendly.

Anyone else think this is a great idea?

They used to have mixed palettes (that were pre-filled--back in the days of the larger sized eyeshadows)...I pried one apart so I could fill it with my own stuff but it never really worked because of the size discrepancy. That would be awesome, though. You could always pop out the insert thing (the part with the holes cut in it) and fill the whole rectangular section with blushes and eyeshadows, but then they aren't quite as secure.

I love this idea, too! Closest is Japonesque's palettes that fit 6 MAC-sized eyeshadows and 2 or 4 of the size that used to be MAC's large eyeshadows (same size as Bobbi Brown and many other brands). But that wouldn't fit MAC's blushes. I know I can make a custom palette, using for eg a large Aveda compact or a Trish page, but I like having them nice and neat in slots that actually fit the product.

I personally love Stila eyeshadows so I have an 8 pan palette that I may buy a blush or two to put in for travel, even though Stila blushes are not my favourite, just for the convenience.

I thought about prying a palette apart and filling it but I didn't like the idea of it not fitting securely. Messed up blushes and shadows wouldn't be worth the travel convenience. I e-mailed MAC Pro...maybe something will come out of this brainstorm.

Ideally my dream pallet would fit:
-Studio Tech
-1 Concealer
-1 Blush/Bronzer Duo
-5 Eye Shadows

*dreams*

So I was getting kinda crafty last night and I think I'm just going to make it myself it MAC won't haha.

I'm going to buy a 6-pan and 15-pan and use a dremel to cut them cleanly as possible so that i can fit 2 blushes and 9 shadows. I'll let ya'll know how it turns out.

How smart are you?! I have to return my dremel (I bought the cordless "shark" one because it seemed really good and fit my hand so well) because it just has no power to it. I guess I'll go for the bigger, clunky one.

Finally got a chance to have at it. Here are the results...

The edges where I dremeled aren't the smoothest because it was my first time ever using one. The width of the gap is due to the width of the dremel blade/cutter but the gap can easily be filed with some black epoxy. Other than that I think it turned out pretty well!

If you work on getting the cut really neat, you can prolly sell them on LJ or other MAC makeup sites. People buy pressesd pigments all the time and this is waaaay cooler

Thanks! The one with the 2 blushes is the one I'd carry around for sure. The other one is just making use outta the extra parts. It'd be a waste to just toss it.

LOL

That wouldn't work for me. Sometimes I can't decided what shadows and blush to take and the ones I do take, end up being ones I don't use. LOL
