WTF???! IDENTITY THEFT??!

Thanks to a certain Specktra member for bringing this to my attention. (I don't want to mention her name in case she's uncomfortable w/ it) SOMEBODY on myspace is using my pictures in their profile and passing it off as herself. i don't have a myspace account, so i can't comment or contact her right now, but i think i'll open an account just to ask WTF??

what should i do besides give her sh*t? can i report it to myspace? i know this is the Internet and that stuff like this happens all the time, and my intention is not to start sh*t up, but at the same time i don't feel comfortable about it and i don't want to sit back and do absolutely nothing.

it looks like the chick got this picture from here, in my gallery because the picture she used wasn't posted anywhere else (i only post on here and livejournal)... so can i deduce that she is a specktra member?? i'm taking down all the pictures in my gallery and locking my LJ to friends only to prevent further occurences. this is by far the creepiest thing that's ever happened to me.

what should i do?

You can report it to My Space,.. if you click contact My Space at the bottom there is a link and you can actually chose the identity theft topic,... it will give you the instructions. Apparently it happens there often. I would shit my pants,. but you are georgeous I can see why she is soo jealous. But I would report her

I'm sorry that this has happened to you, but like someone has mentioned already... You're pretty, evidently someone aint, and they're jealous. (that's the only logical explanation that I can think of right now).

Omg that person actually has the nerve to use your pictures and write a profile like its really them. I dont know that is scary and stupid they must be that desperate to try to get attention like that. I used to be on myspace but too many people i know are on there...it gets old. Hopefully that persons profile gets banned.

OMG Jeanna that is so messed up. The only thing I could tell you to do is watermark your name into your pictures...use the same name anywhere, and or link it to a page that says this little twit has stolen your pics. I cant blame*but yes I do* her, cause you are sooo gorgeous, but how dispicable is that, to use someone elses pic and say its you, egh.

I hope you dont stop posting, because you always give inspiration and I myself love your fotds and posts!

Its a shame when people steal pics, but unfortunately on the web that is bound to happen!

Thats why I learned to watermark everything just in case, even if its clear and a weblink to say your live journal where you could say hey this isnt me, this moron stole my pictures...

myspace doesnt ever reply to anything so dont count on it. This is crappy though i have seen this several times , it sucks theres nothing to do about it either! you could make your own myspace account (its free) and message her. or message some of her "friends" on there. the watermark idea on your pictures is also a good idea .

My guy friend was talking to some chick online and asked for her picture, just being stupid, and she sent him a pic of a girl we have in one of our classes...we were like, um...that's not YOU.

thanks for being so supportive guys!!! i still haven't heard from myspace. i emailed customer service about it though, not that Tom dude. is that right? or should i email that Tom guy too? i did the whole salute thing, as they require one when reporting photo/identity theft, and i did open up an account and used the salute as my user pic.

hahaha, i also channeled my inner b!tch and commented in her blog section. if you want to read what i wrote, just click the link i gave and go to her blogs. i'm really not that mean in real life, but it just came out
