Yasmin birth control and sex drive

Wasn't sure where to post this, i have been on Yasmin birth control pills since the birth of my son a few years ago, i thought it was having a young child that gave me virtually no sex drive any more, but the more i read about it, the more i realise its probably my pill. I still really fancy my fiance i just feel kind of numb and don't want to have sex with anyone else! I also feel really moody and have mood swings all over the place!!

Has anyone else experienced this on yasmin?
If so can anyone recommmend any alternatives?
i am wary of most pills because i tend to put weight on with a lot of pills

I have not been on yasmin but every single birth control out there can lower your sex drive and increase PMS on any woman. At first it may seem like you found your holy grail birth control, but some women dont feel the side effects until 1-2 years after taking it. Having a toddler can be exhausting at the end of the day but it shouldnt completely diminish your sex drive.

Dont be afraid to keep switching birth controls until you find "the one." If i was in your shoes i would get off the pills and switch to a new one. I really reccomend trying orthro tri-cyclen lo, a low hormonal birth control, every single woman who i've talked to love this pill, i dont think i've heard a single complaint about decreased sex drive, but you may spot bleed more

I've been on Yaz for a year and a half now and it seriously has screwed around with my sex drive like woah. it is now completely non existant. It takes a long time for me to get in the mood when it used to take minutes. I spend so much time on foreplay (which is nice) but it just doesn't feel the same?! I've never had sex before without being on birth control so I really don't know how to compare it; but I've fooled around before I was on birth control so I know my body is reacting differently lol. I refuse to get off it just because I'm so afraid of getting pregnant and I don't trust condoms by itself. I've done so much research and talked to my gyno about it and it's definaty normal. I mean, I can work around it and eventually I do become aroused, but it's just not the same.

Yeah I am on this too and right now I hate sex. Like really bad. Im really tetchy about sex with my bf... Its stressing me out.

Some of us are really sensitive to hormone changes, and it can only take a little bit to upset your body.

I may go on the implant, apparently thats good...

i'm not on yasmin but i know girls who are and they've said the same. i'm on cerazette and seriously my sex drive is non existent, its been like it for ages but unfortunately i can only take the mini pill so its my only choice. i know how you feel, and it sucks!

just an fyi, but its not just the pill. its all forms of hormone birthcontrol.

i've been on the pill since i was 14 (i'm 27) for medical reasons, so imagine how my sex drive is.

I was on Yasmeen for a year, and yes it did lower my sex drive. It also controlled my mood swings for the first few months, but things went back to normal right after. I also noticed I was getting horrible migraines from it, so I ended up going off of it. My drive is much much better now

Hey came off yasmin and that been over a week now, actually having dirty dreams now lol and sex drive is on its way back,so defowasthe pill xxxxx
