so i was just wondering do any of you have any special "home remedies" for beauty like face masks or hair treatments or maybe make your own makeup?

* I use a toothbrush to clean under my nails

*I do a mixture of Jojoba and olive oil as a hot oil treatment for my hair

*Cider Vinegar and bottled water mix as a toner

*I mix baking soda with some of my facial cleanser for nice little light facial scrub

*Coconut milk on hair before shampooing, I leave it in for a few hours

*This is an excellent lip treatment!

*for a bath I will soak roses in an oil (usually lavender) toss them in the bath and add about 1/2 a gallon of milk (powdered milk also works)

*when a pimple tries to get the best of me I soak a cotton ball in a mixture of warm water and salt. hold it on the pimple for a few seconds and follow with a 5 min. treatment of honey and then rinse off with cold water.

*strawberry yogurt and honey as a facial mask, sometimes I add oatmeal to this mixture for great combo of scrub and facial mask

*denture tablets help whiten you nails. Just drop in water and soak nails for about 5 mins

*baking soda and water to make a paste to clean silver Jewelry. A gal at Tiffany's told me to this so I didn't have to bring my stuff in for cleanings so often.

Milk of Magnesia is a good oil absorbing mask, and it makes your skin feel really soft.
I use a mashed banana and honey mask to help when my skin feels really dry and flaky. The downside of that one is that you have to hide from your pets

My dog will chase me down to try to lick the mask off my face, lol.
My former roomate and I found a bunch of these on the internet. We would do "Friends and a Facial Thursdays" every week when we lived together.
Try googling Homemade Facial masks or masks recipes.

I use a few drops of jojoba oil on my face at night instead of a night cream. i also use it in my hair, leave it in for a few hours and then was out.

I also make really nice scrubs using sweet almond oil, sea salt and essential oils.... peppermint makes a really nice foot scrub... or i use grapefruit and lemongrass for a body scrub.

I also used to use olive oil as a facial cleanser/make up remover, it was really good, must start using it again in fact!

This isnt' for the face, but on silver jewelry I clean them with a toothbrush and toothpaste, convenient jewelry cleaner. If I get too much buildup in my hair I wash it with dishsoap to really get rid of any buildup.

I do it about twice a month. More if needed but I leave it on while I do a whole has cleaning of wall washing, fine dusting etc... so I have it in for a good 4-6 hours.

Yup, the honey helps heal and salt draws out the bad stuff.

You can also use the neosporin cream to help heal pimples.

I tried the salt/honey/pimple thing today and it's really amazing!! I had a pimple between my chin and lips which really started to hurt and now it went back for about 50 percents and doesn't hurt at all!
