Zitbuster Serum with EO's

This recipe is not my own; I obtained it from another skincare and beauty forum. I've been using this mixture for 2 months now and really like it; I've also added it to my silk and pearl paste primer to keep oilies at bay. If you have sensitive skin, this may not work for you; some EO's can cause irritation. It has an earthy smell, I kind of like it but some may not. It's possible that adding a few drops of geranium EO would improve the aroma, but then again I think geranium EO improves the smell of EVERYTHING!

I use jojoba as a carrier oil since I've found it extremely compatible with my skin. If other carrier oils [Hazelnut, grapeseed or rosehip seed oils] are more suitable for your skintype, by all means try those instead!

I start off with a clean .5 oz. EO bottle filled halfway with jojoba oil. Then add 16 drops EACH of lavendar, rosewood and tea tree EOs.
Follow up with 8 drops each of German Blue Chamomile, helichyrsum oil, lemon oil, palmarosa oil and thyme oil.

This bottle has been lasting me a long time; I apply it right after cleanse/tone. First month, I didn't even break out with any zits during my TOTM! Earlier this month, I got my usual monthly zit. Spot treated it with helichyrsum neat in addition to this oil mixture and it disappeared within 3 days. This zit was gearing up to be a monster and it went away!

You're welcome cutey! I get most all my EOs and carrier oils from Mountain Rose Herbs | Bulk organic herbs, spices, teas & essential oils. They're a little expensive but everything is certified organic. These EO's will last you a long time, well worth it. Mountain Rose Herbs also ships internationally as well.

I store nearly everything in glass or amber bottles with the droppers so I don't need to worry about the petrochemicals in plastic containers leaching into my skincare stuff. Once I'm finished with an EO, rather than throw away or recycle the bottle I clean and sanitize them for future use.

1. Remove cap or if a medicine dropper is used to close the bottle.
2. Take the glass pipe out of the rubber dropper thingamajig.
3. Rinse all parts with hot water, then soak for a few minutes in a bowl full of soapy water. [I use Castille soap]
4. Rinse all pieces thoroughly with hot water.
5. Use isoproply alcohol [at least 50%, I lean toward 70%] to sterilize. Fill up your EO bottles half way with alcohol, replace cap, shake around and let it sit for about 30 minutes.
6. Fill a small bowl with alchohol and let all the other pieces soak for at least 30 minutes. Sometimes I'll leave them overnight, but there probably isn't any additional benefit.
7. After soaking in alcohol, place a clean washcloth or towel on your counter and let everything air dry.

P.S. I didn't know if this should have been a separate thread or not, sorry if I misposted!
