So I kinda fell out of love with makeup for the summer (shocking I know!) but I've recently rediscovered it, so here I am posting again.

This is actually a really dramatic look for me. I usually don't pack on the color so much, or haven't been recently at least. I may have gone a little overboard with the eyes. lol. Please let me know what you think?

I think that the colors that you chose are nice colors. Orange and blue are very difficult colors to work with together since they're complementary colors (same goes for pairing red with green and violet with yellow). It might help to use colored bases to help blend the colors before you put the eyeshadow on. I find that most bases are easier to blend together than powdery eyeshadow alone.

I think that the colors that you chose are nice colors. Actually I've been meaning to buy more paint points and CCB's to try experimenting with different colored bases. All I own and use right now is Bare Study, and that really just matches my skin with a bit more sheen.

Are there any colors you'd recommend me trying out first? Should I just match them up with the colored eyeshadows I'm wearing?

Any help is greatly appreciated girls. I'm always trying to learn.

^You could get other paint pots, but I find that these tend to be offered in market palatable colors. If you want something a bit brighter, I would suggest using something like Urban Decay's Cream shadows (over UDPP), fluidlines (over UDPP), MUFE's bases (there are several types), or if you're really up for a blending challenge, using pencil eyeliners that are offered by MAC or Urban Decay. You can also make your own bases by mixing pigment with mixing medium (either home made or store bought). I also like MAC paints (which are now dc'd) and Shadesticks (many have been dc'd). I think MAC is also releasing another line of basic colors like chromaline or chroma cakes something like that, but they're very bright basic colors. Everyone is a little different, but I find that CCBs crease like crazy on me no matter what I do to prevent it.

As far as colors go, the different brands which I listed above have different colors available and different price tags (I've only tried one MUFE product for this reason). I generally match my color bases to my eyeshadow, but not always, for instance, sometimes I use a black base and a red powder over that. A lot of people will use a white base and all of the colors that they're going to use go over the white. If I'm doing a pin up look I take a basic shimmery base and a black base as extremes and then build the different colors in respect to those ones. There are many ways you can go about it so it's really about having fun and being creative.
