Figured that since this post dealt with a few lines, I'd put it in this thread.
I went by the Pro store and one of the MA's there let me leaf through their magical little update book. I was trying to be a little discrete about it, since there were other people around, but some thoughts:
- While I still don't like the promo images for Cham-Pale, they had some model photography with the products that was quite nice. Makes me want the lip gelees. There were a lot of face charts, too. I'm not sure how many were official, but the looks were quite nice- soft but not bland.
- The stuff from Stylishly Yours is BRIGHT. It is definitely a very bold collection. I saw one face chart that used Style Curve, but in the image it looked quite a bit pinker than I thought (more like Rebel than like a true purple). Again, this was one face chart, so I'm not sure how reliable it is. Plus, the look was supposed to approximate the shade of lipstick with a gloss. The general impression, though, was of bright punches of colour, both on the eyes and on the lips.
- The Peacocky promo image is cool- very intricate face painting and the model is wearing the Peacocky lipstick. It is a really gorgeous shade of blue. It's definitely on my list of must-haves now. Sadly, was not able to see swatches or charts for Love Peck.
- They had a sample of the new False Lashes mascara on hand in the Marcel Wanders packaging. It really is quite beautiful and elegant. The promo image for False Lashes actually creeped me out a little. It's just a typical woman with massive lashes close-up shot, like they do for all their mascaras, but in this one, the lashes she's wearing are so long they look like hair. It's definitely intended to be ironic, but my first thought was "I will wear anything that promises I won't look like that".
Seeing this definitely has me more excited for all the upcoming collections.

There were definitely hints that we were getting coloured mascara. There's the burgundy one that's being released with Stylishly Yours, but I think there were more planned for later. I would love to get coloured mascara from MAC because I like their mascaras very much and I like to use coloured mascara.

I'm still trying to get a grasp on Peacocky's color. Which blue is it closest to? I'm assuming it looked like opaque gloss in the promo pic - is that the texture?

It's so funny everyone is talking about their first from MAC being Spice liner! A friend and I were having a convo just the other day and she finally
confessed to me that there was a time she once loved MAC and would obsess over it like myself today... She said her first purchase was the Spice liner
and that's what got her hooked!

! I'm loving the Girl Next Door trip collection... I missed out on Smoke & Diamonds last time!!
I think my first MAC lipliner was Dervish, and I still don't own spice!

Those trip sets sound awesome! I'd totally get the Rocker Chick one if I didn't already own half the stuff in it. But, the one with Smoke & Diamonds sounds really awesome! I'm a total newbie, but when do these come out every year?

Lol, I think I mentioned Spice was my first lip liner as well, but I'm pretty certain it was my first MAC purchase ever as well! Second would have been Shadowy Lady e/s, as long as I'm not getting the timing of these reversed. I remember getting it after reading in an old article long ago that Mariah Carey was quoted saying it was one of her staple items

It's more like the first colour- very intense and deep. The texture didn't look as glossy as I expected- just like a regular lipstick (although that might have been achieved by lighting or photoshop for that matter). I'm really looking forward to this one!
