I'd really like to see another new foundation released, concealers too. I'm starting the great foundation hunt for myself in January (sick of the constant search, must find my HG!) and I need as many options as I can get!

I think it's possible that "Finally Flawless" will include very few new items though. I think this could be more about Prep + Prime products and a focus on a current foundation (maybe Face & Body again, or MSFN).

As always, I'm hoping for new stuff!

Gosh, how many foundations and mascaras can each company keep releasing? I'm getting a little weary of it (although I see I'm clearly in the minority with this line of thinking!).

I just read on the lushiousbeauty website that the 12th of february a collection called Finally Flawless is coming out in the USA. Sounds like a new MAC foundation to me!

For most cosmetic companies, innovation is key to driving sales (I'd say that's particularly true for MAC). L'oreal for instance must have launched hundreds of mascaras in its lifetime (and let's face it, most of them don't differ all that dramatically from one another - but it's a way to get you to notice the brand and keep you coming back). At some point they'll discontinue the slower-selling items to make room for new products. Sort of like an ongoing refreshment really!

Yes they should do away with them. I only tried one so far and that's plush lash which i really like, but they have so many mascara's that you don't know where to start. Maybe i'll try opulash next.

opulash is awesome. makes my lashes look long, really black and nice volume too. the only downside is that the formula leaves my lashes feeling slightly crispy. but i can cope with that!

I think a lot of the older Mac mascaras have outlived their usefulness. The newer formulas that they've come out with seem far better than what they originally started with and and the older ones generally contributed to Mac having a reputation for sub-par mascaras.

I currently have Opulash, which I really like, but find it does seem very dry, Dazzlelash, which I always liked, especially in brown (gives length and spreads lashes out, but with a lighter colour, the effect is quite subtle), Plushlash, which is great for volume and, most recently, False Lashes, which is my favourite yet. I play around with different mascaras to see if there is a change in the effect, which sometimes there is. I do think that Mac could do something that put a greater emphasis on thickness- Plushlash is nice, but there's still some room for improvement. But I think they could get rid of some of the older ones to make room.

^ False Lashes is the MAC takeover of the old Prescriptives which was fabulous. I love it too.

on another note, and before my meds kick in again -- I want to make note of some new trends/prods which are coming up:

Mac me Over

Mattenes

Can't say when, can't say how -- but they seem to be a part of our MAC horizon

I hope they just re-promote colours, the formula is my favorite from MAC.

I'm glad the mattenes are making a comeback! I have both the Style Black ones and all but one of the CoC ones (passed on Chock-ful, because it's the sort of brown shade that makes me look sick), but I want MORE. It's a lovely formula, particularly for those of us whose lips have a tendency to dry out with regular matte lipsticks.

Ooh, that's great news, Hergreyness! I only have one mattene, and was hoping they'd bring more out. Not too soon, though, as Champale, Stylishly Yours and especially Peacocky are going to hurt my credit card as it is

I have the old ones from 2007 like composure, seriously rich, and immodest...they make great lipstains with a chapstick!
