MAC - Sheen Supreme Discussion

I went and played with these today and I didnt buy anything . . . .yet !!!!!! lol . These seem like a nice formula but im wondering if they might be too soft b/c (the testers looked a mushy mess). A few of them (cant remember the names) didnt seen as if they glided on the skin smooth. But my favorite was Insanely It. So I might go back and buy that one to test out and see how it wears.

[/quote] Testers can get so nasty sometimes. I guess it's the lights, but a lot of it has to do with the customers just not giving a damn. It's pretty gross. I bought Insanely It in person, but even then I was unsure of it. It did seem soft and I just didn't know about the formula. It's way better once you put it on. That's why I ordered 2 more. I still have to get used to the shape of it, though. I have to slant it in a strange way so I won't go outside of my natural lip line.

sheen supreme is not out here yet though.. bt i definitely am in no hurry to get them. esp when the summer collections are coming out.. bt ill grab one or two to tide me over. heehee..

I just got my order from mac via UPS yesterday!

I ordered: Full Speed, Ultra Darling, Bare Again, and Insanely It!

I just tried them all on now.

First impressions: This formula is so moisturizing on my lips (I have dry mildly chapped lips) . So this is a plus for this lipstick for me already!

Bare Again - reminds me of Slimshine Bare, Hug Me etc which I love, nice everyday color.

Ultra Darling - Is pretty midtone in color, not bright , but not dull. I say it brightens up the face without it being a crazy bright color.

Insanely It! - Quite possibly my fave of the bunch. It looks super bright in the tube, but on it doesn't look crazy bright. Don't get me wrong it isn't a mid-tone color,
but it is a pretty bright strawberry pink . I recommend this one for sure.

Full Speed- This one is bright, glows on the lips. I say it is very much like a sheerer less intense Red Full stop LE L/s from Mac or as close as I get to my fave "Made with love" LE MAC L/S color.

Only downside is that they work like a gloss in that they don't evenly cover the lips, especially if you press your lips a certain way, however this is a MINOR thing.

Overall I love this formula and I hope mac keeps these permanent for a long time, and expands on the colors as time goes by.

If I have time I'll try to photograph them on my lips. I'm NC20 , green eyes, dark brown hair , if this helps in the meantime.

PS. I would re-purchase these lipsticks, and I want to try the vivid blue red one eventually.

Elegant, how would you compare the clinique chubbys to the sheen surpremes? I have one of the clinque chubby sticks and love it.

Chubby's are just a tinted lip balm, that hugs your lips more like a stain. While Sheen Supremes are like a lustre formula lipstick in pigmentation, sheerer and way more glossy
and not at all like a lip balm texture or stain look. However they are more moisturizing on the lips than Chubby's. Although I love both.

Oh my...I just bought Quite The Thing...it is super super GORGEOUS on!

Its a slight Rose Plum Deeper Raspberry color on me. It just may be one of my fave colors out of all of them. And, it looks amazing with Jeanius blush Overdyed!!!! very very pretty together.

yikes. ..many times I buy sight unseen, just cause I know myself and what I like. Even when I swatch in person, I am hesistant cause of my germophobia.. and never try on my lips. I think that by now I know enough about colour that I can just detect from what I see in a tube that it will work on my lips

So I originally was going to pass on getting anything in this collection (at least, not yet since they're perm) but I got talked into buying Good to Be Bad today at the local MAC FFS while I restocked on makeup remover wipes. All I can say is ZOMG Nightmoth liner + Good to Be Bad = current favorite vampy lip.

Sorry Hang-Up, I like you and all but Good to Be Bad is much better (and better feeling) berry lippy.

I think I'll leave the rest of them alone, don't want to buy too many similar colors.

So I got New Temptation and Full Speed today. That was mighty fast. I am digging them both. New Temptation Full Speed

^ Those look beautiful on you, Shontay! I swear that when I saw Full Speed in the Mac store, it looked flat-out scary, but perhaps it had to do with the lighting there. It's much more toned-down on you. New Temptation is so lovely. A nice, juicy bright lip for summer.

[/quote] Thanks, Katred! Yeah, Full Speed was scary looking at first and that's why I passed, but a bright coral cannot pass me by without a test drive. It looks even better in person, on the lips. Nowhere near as intimidating. New Temptation is a great way to wear red w/o giving too much. When I don't want to do it up completely, I can wear this. Plus the formula just makes the lips look delish. Nice, juicy bright lip for summer, indeed!

Shontay you always rock those colours! you look great! plus, I think I got the same colours as you did.. all I do is pick out the brights, cause these are sheer and will work with my mid tone meaty lips..lol
