MAC Quite Cute Discussion

I hear ya HG. My hubby is an engineer also. He heard me saying a few years ago how I'd like ot have my e/s in a tilted position like on the thingie at MAC so I could see the colors (before I depotted) so he measured the wide drawer in my vanity and measured the e/s pots and built this wooden thing that sits in the drawer. He then said proudly no you can put 77 in there with some space behind it. I didn't have the heart to tell him that would only hold about half my singles. He honestly thought he was being funny and that there was no way in hell I had close to 77. Yes he has to build and put things everywhere. However that engineer brain of his I want to strangle sometimes. But now it's full of the special package ones because I can't depot those yet. I like that they're different.

My hubby doesn't get the makeup thing at all. You guys are lucky that your hubby or b/f takes an interest or looks at pics and products. Mine doesn't even pretend to be interested and he'd only look at makeup if I colored myself with it and stood in front of him naked and that will never freakin happen.

I am so impatient for this collection to get here! Can't wait to see lots of good swatches and get my hands on some pastel goodness.

Yesterday, it occurred to me that the colors of the lipsticks reminded me a bit of the Lime Crime lipsticks. Now, I definitely refuse to buy from Lime Crime because I've heard the quality is not all there and because all of the drama. However, Playing Koi reminds me a bit of Cosmopop and Quite Cute reminds me of D'lilac. That would be great to see dupes of these colors, because I know lots of people wanted these but wanted ones that applied better and such. Now, we'll just have to see how the MAC versions apply and compare!

I hope they are like those two colours because they are the main ones from Line Crime that I wanted to try (but like you, I refuse to send money in Doe's direction!)

Everytime I say no more mac for awhile then this comes along. I made a budget list for this collection. If my bf saw it he'd think I was crazy.

I didnt want the quad at first but now I do and the lipsticks. I guess the 217 brush will have to wait.

I went to my local mac today to play with everything! It was awesome. I also got to do my preorder. Here is my opinion on things I played with:

The quad: So moshi moshi is gorgeous but it seemed strange in texture or something. It, in my opinion, will be the hardest of the eyeshadows to work with. Boycrazy was suprisingly beautiful and did seem to have a bit of sparkle to it. I was impressed with the color payoff of all 4 but I am NW15.
Lipsticks: Playing Koi was gorgeous, as was candy yum yum. Play time seemed very sheer. I think it will be like the lipstick version of revenge is sweet on me. Quite cute seems like with enough layering you can get good color payoff. I didn't mess with St.Germain.
Blushes: Miss behave I love it! The green heart will be an awesome highlighter on light skin tones and the peach color will be subtle. Sakura was gorgeous. The pink heart in the middle is suprisingly bright and pigmented. (at least on my skin). Giggly was also pretty, but I have so many pink blushes already.
The mint polish looked pretty and so did the lavendar. The pink to me looked like galore pink polish from spring forecast.

I ended up preordering all of the l/s except St.Germain, sakura and miss behave, mischieveous and little girl type n/p, and the quad. $168 of damage I am reasoning with myself this is ok because the last mac I bought was the mickey contractor/peacocky goodies which have all been getting good use. I somehow completely skipped WW and even that tempting pink blush from Jeanius.

Thank you so uch for sharring your thoughts on the collection. Did quite cute seem as sheer as play time? what color did playing coy end up being? It's described as white peach pink but it looks nude in photos. How would you describe it.

I'm curious about the same exact things! Playing Koi seems like the color jumps back and forth quite a bit between the very few swatches we have. I really want to know what it looks like irl.

How fast do you think this collection will sell out? What do you guys think will sell out first? Is this gonna be a cut throat release, or will I be ok to shop later in the day on launch day?

^Most likely, this collection will be in between a cut throat and later in the day to shop during the release date. The first thing that will sell out first is all three of the blushes.

I think you are right! The blushes will sell out first, especially Sakura (due to the name & color). I think the eye shadow quad and candy yum yum lipstick are very popular as well. Nail polishes don't sell out that fast anymore (see wonder woman). They are $14 now and other brands are cheaper and got a much better quality.

^I agree. I don't buy MAC nail polishes at all. I only rely on China Glaze for nail polish.
