I'm going to NYC in March during the week of St. Patrick's day as part of a Fashion Industry course. Everyday we are going to appointments around the city but in the afternoon and evening we're allowed to go our own way and do what we'd like!

So I was really hoping for worldy advice and recommendations on where to go and what to do.

Shopping?: Our hotel is in midtown by times square, so there's shopping to be had of course but what should we absolutely not miss?!

I want to go to the MAC Pro of course~can they take orders and ship products to your home elsewhere? Wasn't sure if this was true or not.

Where are some lesser known great plus size stores?

Weather?: I heard it's gonna be 30-40 degrees the whole time in mid March, is that about accurate?

Where do I go in Harlem?: I'm the only black person in my group and the only person that wants to go to Harlem :( It really is culturally important for me to go there BUT what areas should I avoid the most? I'm trying to make a map of where to walk in Harlem.

Finally, NIGHTLIFE: I really like clubs that play electronica, like Calvin Harris, Basement Jaxx, Royksopp, and clubs that usually have the top 40 R&B hit list. Could anyone recommend their faves? And what's a reasonable cover and cost of a good well drink in NYC?

Also I want go to a club with a sunken rave-like pit, if there are any good one of thoses lol.

Damn I saw this thread way too late. Anyway, I hope you had lots of fun here, and hopefully you got to visit Harlem, and ventured outside of Manhattan to other parts of NYC :)

Sadly didn't venture very up but instead very down. Soho is whatever after the first few times but it seems pretty cool. REALLY liked the lower east village!

But will definitely be interning at Tommy Hilfiger if I can or with some of these indie designers I met. Their corporate office the shit and their archive of clothing is amazing!
I touch Mick Jagger's Jacket! And Elton John's platforms!

I love the transportation system! The metro card ain't no joke!

Haha I went to upper Manhattan at night for a Quest Love concert at Brooklyn Bowl! Love it!

And the hasidic jewish part made me laugh so much!

There are a lot of Hasidic Jews here. You love the transportation system now, I admit, it's pretty badass, but taking it on the weekend is a nightmare lol.

Metrocards= my life!
