MAC Quite Cute Discussion

The new lipsticks are the highlights for me in this collection (except that corpse grey not-so-Quite Cute). Even though I never were interested in the quad, it still bugs me that Mac keeps releasing crap nowadays. I mean come on, again poorly pigmented eye shadows and now blushes that are questionable. I'm starting to be seriously turned off by this rubbish that they put out every month. There are so many good products they have and have made in the past, so they know how to do it, so why won't they? Not impressed at all.

I'm super disappointed in the quad. I wanted to like it, but I suppose I'll save my money to get the 217 and 239 I've been wanting. The purple and bright pink lipstick just don't look very flattering at all. I'm hoping theirs something in this collection I'll like.

-Hmmmm. I love Temptalias reviews. But I am NC15, things always end up looking way different on me then her. So I have to consider that when I'm looking at her swatches. I think me being pale and cool toned things might show up better.

-I actually like how the quad just gives a subtle color. I forgot her name but the girl that did the look in the youtube vid. Her look turned out nice with the quad. It's seems like it would need some experimenting with. Like the Defiance quad from WW. It got horrible reviews, but its one you had to experiment with. I ended up getting it, and with the right brush, application, and base, I love it!

-I dont know about Candy Yum Yum. It's SO pretty but woah it is soooooooo bright. I dont know if I can pull it off! But you can also put a light layer on, and I can see some great combos with it. I also dont have any bright pinks.
-Quite Cute...I dont know what to think about this lippy. But on paler skintones it could work.
-I like the look of Miss Behave! I'm still excited for it. I dont own any highlighters.
-The glosses are a total pass.

I think i'll swatch the quad in the store. Maybe she got a bad batch or something? All the other swatches i've seen seem pigmented. Strange...

I still plan to check out the quad. My skintone is complete opposite (NW15) so it very well may show up on me. I think the quad is the only thing I will be getting though, if anything at all.

I agree w/you LMD84. My list has greatly decreased. I am still holding out for swatches of Playing Koi & Playtime.
As well as Sakura blush. I do need to save money because I have a feeling with the new stuff coming out this Fall I am going to go mad with
spending. And who knows what other collections may be coming out in the late Summer...hmmmm.

So it's just Candy Yum-Yum lipstick for me. I won't even get Boldly Bare liner b/c there's nothing for me to pair ti with. The other 2 liners are too light. I was interested in Quite Cute lipstick, but Temptalia shot that down for me. I don't expect the other shades to be interesting or flattering for me. Cheap haul. Just one item! :lol:

I have the same issue. I hope to see the quad on some lighter skintones before I rule it out completely.

I still love Sakura blush, Candy Yum Yum, and possibly Quite Cute (anxious to see it on a lighter skintone as well!).

well. i guess it's just the lilac plush glass for me. i would like to see playing koi, though, but for some reason it's looking like the ls from venomous villains that i just went completely blank on the name. way to go minute mind of mine.

Well ive cut my list down to just candy yum yum and playtime lipsticks ! I was wanting the quad but im not 100% happy in purple/lavender eyes so her review has convinced me that i dont need it !
Its looking like a cheap collection month for me ! Thankgoodness x

Looks like I too will be skipping the quad.
Might as well... I only liked the purple colors to begin with lol.
However, I am still in love with Candy Yum-Yum.

Looking forward for Karen's swatches!
She and I are both NC35, so that helps a lot.

When she posted a pic of the products from the collection she has it included Playing koi which I really want to see on a darker skintone. And the blushes!!! Fingers crossed there not that sheer!

These swatches havn't helped me cut my list down at all haha. Still Quite Cute, Playing Koi, Candy Yum Yum, Miss Behave & Sakura.

I was kind of hoping I would hate one of them so that I could drop it from the list

Haha, funny that you should mention it! I think I had that one too Wasn't it quite frosty though? When I was younger, I could still pull off wearing this colour, but right now I'm not a fan of corpse lips look.

I am still going to get the Quite Cute lipstick. I love that light lavender/lilac look. I do wish it were in an amplified finish though. I think if it were more creamy the color payoff would be better. I remember when I was a teenager there was a lipstick color like QC and I loved it. The brand was Kiss My Lips I think and it cost on .99cents for it. That brand no longer exists. I'm still debating on Candy Yum Yum. It's bright. I already have Petals & Peacocks from Give Me Liberty and it's bright also. I now need to see Playing Koi, Playtime and Sakura blush swatches.

What a letdown so far! Only Naked lipliner is firmly staying in my list and the quad is now a maybe. I really like the look of Azuki Bean, but I can't justify spending $36 for just 1 colour I really like.II. I also feel like Mac isn't able to sway me with their recent releases. My last haul was Peacocky! If I skip the quad, all I'll be getting until June will be 2 pencils.

Candy Yum Yum is too bright for me.

I must admit I'm mildly intrigued/interested by Playing Koi... though for some reason it reminds me of Jazzed.
I'm thinking that Playing Koi is probably lighter, though.
