MAC Quite Cute Discussion

I really have no idea which products to go for now...

I'll definitely get one of the blushes in Sakura or Giggly

But the lipsticks confuse me.

What the heck color is Playing Koi, it jumps all around in Karen's swatches from a color like Jazzed to a concealer nude..
Playtime looks kinda pretty
Quite Cute is quite interesting, I guess paler skin could pull this off better...?

And since the quad is downright dissapointing, I think I'll just grab up Beautiful Iris and perhaps Jest in a pan and be happy. I'll make my own pastel themed quad. ;)

I'm officially getting the quad. Maybe giggly, but I would only be buying it for the heart

I still want the quad, all blushes, and Bubble Tea. I'm really tempted by Candy Yum Yum, but I don't wear lipstick - it's such a cool color though! I might be able to convince myself out of all three blushes since I mostly want them for the sake of cuteness.
Ummm im unsure about Play Time, it looks nice on her but I already have Up the Amp, and imo I think they are in the same color family. Now im thinking about passing on this l/s as well.

Now I am curious about the lip liners . . . . . Do any anybody with a darker skin tone like (NC45 and up) have any of these lip liners (Boldly Bare & In Synch) ?? If so how do you like them are they something to consider buying ??
A couple of my followers told me to buy Boldly Bare

Hm... I'm really liking how Sakura looks on Karen!
Will definitely be buying Giggly, though. :D
Ditto Candy Yum-Yum.
I'm rather disappointed in the quad, though...
I mean, I know they are pastels and those don't look as good on medium-dark skin but still...
I am in love with Azuki Bean, though!
Hopefully I can find a dupe for it. T_T

I honestly don't think this colour is flattering on mid tone skins... jmho.

Karen has looked much much better with other products -- the end point is to look great and not just use "new" products.

notice the pic is not really a close up -- but further away.

Ugh. So heart-broken, but my wallet is rejoicing! I'm cutting everything off my list. I already have 3 of the plushglasses and I love those, so I guess I'm not skipping out completely. I may take a look at the polishes now if they get amazing reviews, but if not, I'll invest in some other brands this month and/or save up for Surf Baby. Goodbye, quad! Goodbye, cute blushes! *sniffles*

This is one of the reasons why I'm waiting to try out the products for myself. It seems that they might work well only on really fair complexions. Which makes me wonder what the marketing team was thinking when they green-lit that... "Hey, you know that 2% pf people who look like they glow in the dark? Why don't we do a collection just for them?" Anyway, I still have my fingers crossed that I'll want some things. And my wallet is hoping that what I've seen so far is actually indicative of what's to be had.

As the swatches are starting to pour in I'm starting to think this might be another collection I skip. Toxic Tale was too neon for me, and after seeing the Temptalia swatches I suspect Candy Yum Yum will be too neon as well, and if it pulls to blue it's going to look hideous on me.

I'll still try it but I'm not getting my hopes up.

With all the limited edition collections MAC is releasing just about every month now I'm starting to long for the days when we had seasonal collections that were really strong.

MAC is really starting to disappoint me lately. I will get Boldly Bare l/l and I will try Candy Yum-Yum. This will be a great opportunity for me to try some of my wishlists from other brands. I have a haul of some LORAC, Nars, Stila, and Illasmqua items that I've been wanting from Sephora. I also have a list of items I want to try from Sugarpill, Inglot, and Fyrinnae. I will just invest in those products and wait on Surf Baby.

Also ladies, I think those interested in Candy Yum-Yum should check out Stila's long wear liquid lip color in Caprice. It is a hot pink that dries to a matte finish. It doesn't have the "neon" factor that reflects in Christine's swatch...which is good for me because "neon" doesn't go well with my NC45 complexion.

I agree that after seeing Temptalia's quad swatches, I was really disappointed. But I went back to some of the earlier swatches I saved and I still love it. http://zonkosworld.blogspot.com/2011/02/mac-quite-cute-collection-swatches.html
Guess this is one I'll have to swatch in person. I was disappointed with Surf swatches too. What's a girl to do?? LOL I hope something from Quite Cute catches my eye because the release is the day before my birthday and I was planning a MAC/H&M shopping spree (luckily for me they're directly across from each other in the mall :)

As pink and purple lover, I was sure I was going to buy the quad. But after seeing the swatches, I'm not sure about it now. The blushes are cute. If I buy one, it will be Sakura. If I buy one Plushglass, it will be I Love U. But they don't look like must-haves for me. I maybe able to dupe them. Should I feel happy or sad?

I got an invitation to the MAC Pro store in Miami Beach, FL for the31st of March for the Quite Cute Collection. I have never been to one of these things all i know is that I had to call in and RSVP, but what do they do there? Like a collection preview, samples, giveaways, discounts on the new collections?

Please and Thank You.

So everyone is negative on the quad? I was hoping for some pretty pink colours for spring... but if it's not great, I'll pass too. How sparkly, frosty is it - anyone know?

I have to say that I share the general sense of disappointment seeing T's swatches. I don't care for much that I can see on Karen's site either... Between that pic of Christine with the pale grey-violet lips (I normally think her lips look perfect) and the shot of Karen in Playing Koi... Let's say it didn't make me want to beat down the doors of Mac on the 7th to haul things. I will say, though, that I'm rejecting nothing out of hand until I see it in person. Both ladies are darker and warmer toned than I am and products aren't going to show the same on me as on them. Nowhere is that more true than with light blushes, so I'm not writing off either Sakura or Miss Behave. Funny, because today I was wearing Oh So Fair, which I know looked more like a highlighter on T's site, but which works as a blush on me for sure. And, while there were lots of terrible reviews for the WW quads, I didn't find them too bad at all, except for Lady Justice. I do really like Candy Yum-Yum... I do have a bunch of hot pinks, but this one does look different... Kind of a "cool hot pink"... Funny, I almost bought NARS Schiap today, but decided to wait in case I liked this one...
I agree about those two ladies having different colouring, so everything looks off to me. I wear Oh So Fair as a blush too - it's quite pigmented on my fair skin.

I guess i have to go to the store and try everything but I really like seeing what I want here first...
