MAC Quite Cute Discussion

My original list had on it Candy Yum Yum and Boldly Bare l/l and one of the blushes. Right now I've taken blushes off the list because the hearts are frosty and I have oily skin so this won't work and not even as a highlighter. I can do a little glitter or a little shimmer as a highlighter, but not frosty. I've added on all of the nail polishes because I like the pastelly colors and I am in need of colors like that since I only go for darky and neutral colors. As if I don't have enough minty green colors, but I'm sure this one is different. Ha!

Candy Yum Yum l/s...I wonder if I should call the counter and put it on hold??? hmmmm....I really don't think it's that serious though. Input?

[/quote] I think it is that serious. I see it as being the first lip product to go (perhaps Playing Koi comes close). I think I get off too late on Fri to go to Pro. Perhaps I can get there Saturday. I'm thinking I should buy two of CYY. It seems unnecessary since I've never finished a lipstick, but I get paranoid that something will happen to it(tragically, a LE lipstick crumbled on me before).

I agree with Shontay on this one- almost all of the discussion I've seen on this collection (outside specktra) has been about CYY, which is usually a sign something will sell out. Plus, of course, you have fashionistas talking about how bright magenta and orange lips are the big thing this season. CYY was already featured in last month's "In Style" as part of that trend (just a pic and a mention, but still). My other guess would be that Giggly and Sakura will sell out pretty fast.

Funny thing- the only LE product I have EVER backed up was Baby Goth girl n/p from Style Black. A few months ago, I tripped and smashed one of the bottles. So, yes, sometimes it does pay to have a second. Although, considering that that's the only product I've backed up, it's almost like the universe telling me I should stick to one of everything.

After seeing all of the swatches... my list is really not changing. Still looks like:

Miss Behave
Sakura
Candy Yum-Yum (I've seen enough to convince me it's different from other hot pinks I have)

And the following are still maybes

Quad- I really have to swatch this in person to see if the colours and textures draw me in enough
Playing Koi- This type of shade can go really wrong on me, so I need to swatch
Play Time- Looks more and more like both Style Curve and Quite the Thing Sheen Supreme every time I see it
Quite Cute- I have Blooming Lovely and Lavender Whip, so I'm really not sure if this is necessary... have to swatch

So, this could end up being fairly cheap or pretty expensive, depending on which way the maybes fall.

Hmmm... I originally wanted everything from this collection but now that I'm seeing swatches, I'm incredibly underwhelmed. The only thing I'm still considering is Candy Yum Yum, but I'm really not sure how it would look with my new pink hair...

oh no. i hope u feel better soon dear.. maybe u can play around with your makeup? tt makes me feel better sometimes.. trying out different combinations of eyeshadows or something?

i tried to use quyite cute lipstick this morning but wiped it off. on my bare lips it kept going on really patchy and gross! i shall try again tonight with various liners. sakura blush however looks beautiful!

I have to disagree. Sakura was the best of the 3 blushes, imo. It's a really neat mixture of lavender and pink and didn't come off chalky for me at all. Good pigmetnation, too.

The color payoff with sakura is terrible. It looks extreamly chalky. Giggly and the other one are nice though. I'm totally in LOVE with the neon pink!! Its crazy bright and fabulous!! I'm buying 3 tubes!! The shadows are ok. They build up suprisingly well. This lip pencils are a must have if you like a nude lip.

I was considering getting all of the blushes until i saw the swatches. Miss Behave has really horrible pigmentation. It hardly shows on the skin. So, my list is narrowed down to:

Sakura blush
Giggly blush
Playing Koi lipstick
Little Girl Type nail lacquer

I will also get three of the plushglasses from allcosmeticswholesale. No need to pay 18,50$ when i can pay 13,50$.

In my experience lilac blushes can look chalky if you don't have the right skintone. I do so even the mufe lilac matte shadows I can use as blush with no problems. A friend of mine tried them and though she is as pale as I am it looked like she had put her face in a bucket of sidewalk chalk.

maybe that is all it is. things look better on some than others i guess!

aw yay im glad to hear that about sakura. did you use the whole blush or did you use it without the heart?
