I'm so glad they've been caught. I especially hate how they want us to 'vote' to be able to access their 'work' which they didn't steal from other bloggers.

I discovered that all you have to do to get past the voting thing is refresh the page.

I left a comment on AllGlam (I likewise doubt it'll make it through the filtering- nothing else seems to have), basically saying that there's a lot of time and work that goes into beauty blogging and if she/ they want to save on both by using others' photos, they should give them the proper credit. The best would be to ask permission, but at the very least, cropping the photos and claiming them as your own is cheating. In fact, beauty bloggers routinely use each others' sites as a professional courtesy and as a way of fostering a sense of community. Wish she were on a blogspot platform, since you can report those for these type of infringements.

Every blogger wants a lot of hits and readers on their site, but I hate it when they try to hard. The picture thing is wrong in every way, but on another note: what's the point in blogging, if you don't have ANY own content? I don't understand. I'm a blogger myself, and it is so time consuming, especially taking pics. I just recently had my picture stolen by another person without giving credit. I wrote her a comment, and she removed the pic. But instead replaced it with another pic, that wasn't her own either. Again, no mentioning or linking to the source.

Some people just don't seem to care, or don't know better. I don't watermark my pics YET, because I don't like how it looks.

What was weird, on my post about the Surf Baby collection I think, someone anonymously posted nothing but a link to the All glam site. I couldn't help but thinking that it was that blogger trying to get people to come their site. Don't want to accuse anybody of anything, but why would anyone else do that? Just wondering.

Many people just don't understand about intellectual property rights and that picture theft is wrong. As an example, I work at Trade Me (NZ's version of Ebay). Sometimes we'll get contacted by the rights holders at various companies: OPI, Leg Avenue etc, who will let us know one of their images is being used on an auction without their permission. We contact the person selling the item and let them know we have removed the photo and that they'll need to take their own photo of the item because they don't own the rights to the one used. Seems simple enough, and most people will say "oh shoot, I'm sorry, I didn't realise that was a problem" and it doesn't happen again.

In contrast, I had a really long conversation with a guy who simply could not comprehend what I was telling him. He would keep saying, "X person is using this photo on their auction, can I use that?" No - not without their permission, that is still image stealing. "What if I just crop the person's head out?" No!! That's still stealing! Just take your own damn pictures!!

I feel with so much content being freely available on the internet these days that there is less understanding that the same rules still apply. I watermark my own images right across the middle and someone still had the audacity to steal one and use it on their auction for a pigment sample they purchased from me and were re-selling (for three times the price, and they tried to sell it back to me, but that's another story...)

I have only ever visited AllGlam's site when someone here has put a link to something supposedly new. Other than that, I have avoided that site for ages, as it was obvious they were just stealing other people's images and plastering their own watermark on them. Just looking at that site makes my blood boil, and it's not even my images they're stealing!

WONDERFULLY said! It is even easier and more commendable to just put a source link instead of cropping and watermarking. I own a blog and am an avid reader of many blogs and know how much work it is to keep up with it and put information on there and as a blogger she should have respect for that instead of just plain STEALING. Do people really believe that two different quality photos are hers??

what has annoyed me the most is that it has put people off from posting images and information here on specktra because people are scared that it will get stolen. :(

^^ Yes, and it is unfortunate. I actually hate watermarking my blog images, but do it out of necessity. I think it ruins the photos a bit. I have seen Temptalia's images reposted a lot, and many don't source her.

I don't post often, but I couldn't help but comment that Allglam annoys the daylights out of me and I, too, posted a comment on her blog that stealing photos is not cool. I doubt my comment will get past the mods either but hopefully if enough people tell her (them?) to knock it off, she/they will get the message. Grrrrr!

lets hope that when they are stolen from a popular site like that people will automatically realise what is wrong!

the person whose images have been stolen can report her to her web hosting company! If Allglam stole your pictures, you should report her if she can't see that what she's doing is wrong!!
