That was what I thought.. hahaha! Edited: I just went to the Chanel website to look at the shades. If I am correct, my shade should be Beige Desert B40. So now to see whether Chanel carry this shade in Singapore.

So reading back through the thread I guess the consensus is that the Vitalumiere Aqua is a lot better than the original Vitalumiere? Has anyone used both? Is there good and bad in both of the foundations?

^ I don't think it's necessarily better than the original Vitalumiere, they seem pretty different to me. I think the naming thing makes you inclined to think they're supposed to be similar, but I don't think they're very similar at all.

The finish of the VA is a soft-matte on my skin, whereas Vitalumiere gives me a very moisturized, dewy-looking finish. VA is more of a soft cream in texture (in my opinion) and Vitalumiere seems more fluid to me. I think VA has more coverage than Vitalumiere too.

i wore the aqua foundation yesterday and i forgot to apply my moisturiser first (no clue what was going through my mind!) but the good news is that it didn't look dry on my skin at all! in fact i wore it for about 4 hours and it felt soft on my skin! so i guess this how i know it really is love with this foundation! it even looks good and performs well without me doing my usual face routine! lol!

Lou, at my age one never skips moisturizer, but I have found that with this foundation I can skip my primer and it looks great -- in fact, it works better without it.

That's how it was for me. Just a tiny bit too dark.

Also, I just got my new foundation not that long ago and already I'm thinking I want to try the new one coming out this Fall. Perfection Lumiere. :(

I really want to try the VLA but I think even the lightest shade will be too dark for me :(

Just what Temptalia said, "Perfection Lumiere Long-Wear Flawless Fluid Makeup SPF 10 (available October 2011)." And at my Chanel counter they said it's replacing Pro Lumiere.

I love that name. I want perfection.

Have you tried Pro Lumiere? I think I just need to get my butt to a Chanel counter and beg for samples of all the foundations. Will they do that? My Chanel in Nordstrom is so hoity-toity. Maybe If I tell them I'm distantly related to Karl....

Lou no wonder you look so young -- well you are young, lol.. but your skin looks amazing!

I have my skin routine too from the last century.. and moisturizer and now eye creams and serums are so so important we realize it too late... sigh.

oh bless you! you are so sweet! the crazy thing is that my skin is now looking the best it ever has and it's all thanks to a cream that i bought for £2.50! crazy yes? so mixed in with my clarins and other high end brands of skincare i have a £2.50 acne cream which is bloody brilliant! i feel silly that i wasted so much money on expencive creams when this one does the best job!

oh and over the past year i have started using a serum and eye cream - so i am hoping all my hard work pays off! and i am sure nothing is too late for you - if i ever catch a picture of you (you always put them up when i'm alseep - darn uk time!!) i will be able to tell you how beautiful you are :)

Lou you started so early on your skincare regime! Your skin looks so good, congrats! I must work doubly hard now and I have to look at what serum I should apply. Can we use serum daily or less than that? Maybe you can let me know in the off topic thread. :)

I purchased the Vialumiere Eclat powder and have used it once as a finishing powder lightly, over my liquid foundation. I like it very much as it is non cakey/clumpy but gives just the right amount of coverage. I had a sample of it and used it a few times on its own for a quick application and my skin evened out nicely. Cafe Makeup has reviewed it so you can check it out there for details. I like that it comes with a compact brush too! I'm wearing B20.

I haven't tried Pro! I think I want to... but if I got attached and then they discontinued it, then I'd be disappointed! They've always been pretty good about giving me samples, but I guess I've never asked for different foundation samples at once. They have given me a foundation sample and a serum sample at the same time though. The girls at my counter are really nice. The only thing is that after I loved my Vitalumiere sample I bought the full bottle, which I forgot about while I used up my sample. Two days ago I went to use the bottle, and it was two shades too dark. I exchanged it for what I thought was the right one, but today it was still one shade too dark. Tomorrow I'm going in with the face chart they gave me, and hoping my shade is in stock.

has anybody tried both lift lumiere & teint innocence? i played around with a few of the foundations today and had a tinted moisturiser tried out on me, but all the options are really too dark. i can just about get away with faience (although wearable, i still feel that it is quite a bit darker than my skintone... yes, i really am that pale!) so as far as i can see, lift & teint are my only options within chanel. i'm wearing lift at the moment and have a sample of it, but the assistant didn't try teint on me or even consider it as an option, so i'm curious as to what it's like! i've been wearing lift for about 7-8 hours now and i'm not totally happy with it. idk if it's because the assistant tried out a ton of options on me & my skin is a bit angry about it or something, but my face feels a bit... tight & dry? obviously all the applying / cleansing / toning of various options took off my moisturiser, so i guess that could be part of it (although on days where i forget to moisturise it doesn't feel like this :\). i also think it's probably heavier coverage than i want - like i say, i normally don't wear foundation at all because i prefer to let my skin breathe, so if teint is a bit lighter then i'll give that a go. i have fairly normal skin (dehydrated for sure, but not dry per se, slightly oily tzone but that's it, age 22 so i'm not specifically looking for the firming aspect of lift) and my face is getting pretty shiny with lift, so if teint would be a better option i'd love to know :)

oh dear.. well if faience is too dark then maybe another brand like Illamasqua would be better suited to your skin tone..

I have tried both and hate Teint -- it's too watery for me and doesn't give me any coverage .. like a tinted moisturizer not foundation. The lumier and Vitalumiere are both excellent and two I am wearing a lot now.

now that's a lie.. I alternate beteween Clarins, YSL, ByTerry.. lol.
