Barbie Inspired FOTD - latest blog post on specktra guys!
Actually, my goal is to finally get some skintight leather pants as soon as I reach my weight target - which should be in about 2 or 3 months - just in time for the fall collections to show up in stores! Now to find a boutique that actually sells Pugh in L.A. - might have to make a trip to NYC if I'm serious about it. :D

I think I saw some items of him while I was virtual window shopping at Luisaviaroma, drooling over all the stuff I can never afford, LOL.

First thing I thought seeing the above pics, the Marcel Wanders compact could've been from him.

For all you ladies not familiar with Gareth Pugh - now that McQueen has passed on and Galliano's been demoted in shame for racist insanity, Gareth Pugh is one of our top avant guard designers left. Uses a lot of origami-like construction out of leather and shiny metallic materials, so I'd keep that in mind for the packaging.

He's also famous for using really stark and outrageous makeups on his male and female models - so don't be surprised to see stark black or white or metallic lips and heavy thick eye makeup. Alternately, there might be really off the wall bright colors where they don't "belong" - all you craving some green lipstick might get your wish. Needless to say, I'm super-excited for this collection!

My dream is to own one of his amazing leather pieces, but they're pretty hard to come by, even in L.A.

Fall 2008 was my hands-down favorite collection of his:

If I remember correctly, Pugh graduated from Central Saint Martins in London, which is one of the top fashion school that emphasize artistry and innovation. Can't wait to hear more about the make up they will come up with.

Hahah, I thought the same thing, especially as I had the MW compact in my hands at the CCO a few weeks back.

It reminded me of the MW packaging as well! Haha :D

I would have totally bought that compact, loved how it looked, but I was afraid that even the lighter shade coul've been a bit too dark for my super pale skin.

I like leather, in the form of a motorcycle jacket :) I wore mine all the time until it got too small for me
I just got back into mine! 'First time in years - oh the nostalgia. I felt like I was donning the priestly robes when I put it on again for the first time.

Wow!!! Interesting stuff. I'm not big with leather, but the make-up has caught my eye. I am kind-of digging the futuristic look. Reminds me of Star Trek for some reason. I wouldn't mind some drastic, dramatic and daring colors. Deep, dark and decrepit looks. Hmmm. Maybe, just maybe, this will be an alright collection if it's not too expensive & the products rock the house. Maybe I will finally get my darkish grey lipstick I'm dying for. Tx for posting Liba!!!!!

I found it had a yellow undertone when I swatched it at the CCO. It was still $40 if I remember correctly (this includes a refill pan).

Hate to keep repeating myself but I REALLY need more of the metal shadows like from Peacocky. A TRUE frosty black, a real red, some duochrome ones maybe. The teal is great but I need one like Rebel Rock Blue, how about a not matte version of MUFE #92? *sigh*

I completely forgot to post this http://www.beautyscene.nl/p/37937/mac_trend_presentatie_aw_2011_-_backstage_verslag. Here are some backstage photo's for mac trend fall/rwinter 2011. You can see one photo with prolongwear shadows and in the pot they remind me of the mega metal shadows. Beneath the photo of the prolongwear shadows there is a photo of a cream palette. This specific one didn't came out, but in the article it says there will be a dark purple version for fall. The photo beneath the cream palette is an eyeshadow quad, but the woman that wrote the article didn't know what it was from or if and when it will be released. She did know the colour names: Hello Yellow, Hardcore, Raunch and Waves.
Other interesting things she mentioned were some new collection names: Colourizations will be a collection with duo eyeshadows, Primefocus with the Fortified skin enhancer, Glamglass will have liquid lipsticks and Seasonly Premiere will have a lot of pretty lipsticks. There will also be a collection called Double Feature, but she didn't know any product that would be in that collection.

PS: I had the page translated into English. I love my fellow Dutchies, but I am not fluent in the language. Check it out:

The lipstick collection is right up my alley if the colors are pretty, different & unique. Same with the finishes.

Hardcore could be a nice highlighting color. It looks like a semi-matte/cream finish, which would be awesome.

I like the fact that the Prolongwear shadows look to have the same texture (does that even make sense?) as the Mega Metals. There's a grey-green shade that looks stunning, although I'm a sucker for those tones in general.

I do not have a happy relationship with cream shadows, since they all seem to irritate my eyes, but I'll give these a look-see nonetheless. Nice to see some bold colours!
