Should I skip Mineral Mode if I plan to get the Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in Emerveille?

I'd get the Chanel one. But that's just being me - I don't like MAC's mineral products that much and I want to try new products! Also, I think the Chanel e/s are easier to handle - no fallout, no applying over special bases, no foiling required!

Thanks for all the information liba, you're such a good writer!

Even though you love this collection, you've also given me enough detailed information that I know I can safely skip all the makeup and just get brushes. I'm going to get both eye brushes. I might get the face brushes but I'd have to play with them live to commit.

I find baked mineral products to be almost as much work as the loose minerals. It's worth it for special occasions or a special colour but I have so many loose minerals that none of those colours look special to me. The eye shadows are so beautiful in the pan that I would still buy one if I thought I'd get a lot of use from one but I'm not seeing a colour like that.

I think I will only be getting Geo Pink and Gem of Roses from this collection. I might get one MSF and the amber blush, after I see how it looks on darker complexions. But I'm loving the way Geo Pink and Gem of Roses look.

I wouldn't feel right about raving about something without seeing the other side too. Not everyone wants or needs the same thing out of makeup and you have to take that into consideration. Just be glad you can save your money - I WISH I had that problem....my list for this collection is frightening.

Golden Gaze is a no-brainer - but SERIOUSLY look at Unsurpassable in person first if you can. I think it's awesome, but it's pretty challenging too!

Singer82 - Jade's Fortune can be yellow or grey - so yeah, it's pretty weird, but it looked great on my eyes!

OMG this is going to kill my wallet if I get my maybes!!! Since my wedding is the same day I'm going to do a quick swatch of my must-haves and maybes (except GOR, LA l/s's I KNOW I want them both), get the ones I like, then go back the next day to check out the rest

Liba- Whats on your list? :)
Congrats on your wedding - don't let Semi-Precious make you late to the altar!!

Ugh my unedited list is ridiculous:

Kabuki brush
234 brush

MSF:
Pearl
Pink
Goldstone

MES:
Clarity
Golden Gaze
Unsurpassable
Hint of Sapphire
Jade's Fortune
Rare Find
Mineral Mode
Quartz Fusion

C/G
All of 'em

Lipsticks
All of 'em

MB
Pressed Amber

If I had to tone it down, I'd leave out Pure Magnificence (which is like Fashion Scoop - one of my favorites - but better), Gem of Roses (close to Mehr, but easier to deal with texture), Musky Amethyst (very close to Cunning, but sheerer, which I like), Pressed Amber, Pearl, and if I had to be brutal about the shadows, I'd only keep Clarity, Golden Gaze, Mineral Mode and pick one from the rest of my full list, probably Jade's Fortune.

I think I'll just wind up buying in 2 batches and still getting all the shadows I like and just be very limited about whatever else I consider for Fall. In L.A., you can wear MES year round without looking out of season - especially these colors.

According to this website, Smoked Ruby and Golden Glaze will become perm item: http://lafarfallina89.blogspot.com/2011/05/mac-produkte-herbst-2011.html

She also mentions One of a Kind.

Would be great, for sure, but isn't that quite unusual for MAC? LE items becoming perm?

I put the descritions of the Prolongwear shadows in the Early Buzz thread, Mac-Guy! Hope you don't mind? Great find! Thanks for sharing the link!

i have a feeling that it's wrong information. that rarely happens... but never say never! :)

I thought though too, but who knows, especially as these two shades seem to be the "hot" ones. But only three MES as perm items would them make quite lonely...

big doubt if they did they'd keep all MES its weird just keeping 3 random ones... specialy when they recently got those mineralized duos

I think that's wrong information, too. Seems to me like that blogger just took the names of new products from those fashion show posts, I think Allglam had the exact same list. And then just added that those are new products. I could be wrong of course :) BTW does anyone know what's going on with the A.G. site? Was it taken down?
