The MSFs blended perfectly into my skin - but I had no foundation, powder or bronzer on....seems like they'd do best over just serum/moisturizer and maybe a little primer. My MA tried Goldstone over his foundation and it totally didn't look good - he blamed his skin, but I am pretty convinced it was his foundation (the Mineralize SPF 15 cream one).

I used a standard 129 on part of my face and the new Kabuki brush on the other part (both sides) - didn't try with a skunk brush, though - I could see how it might sit wrong on the face with a 187 or 188, maybe that short stubby foundation one would be ok....

I didn't bother applying Rose Quartz, though - I thought it was a boring, less useful color, especially for NC15. Could maybe be a nice all-over color for women with dark skin that want something to brighten themselves up, but besides that, most people ought to have blush the same color already with more pigmentation.

They definitely can get muddy if you blend them into the skin - gotta be careful about that. You can see how you can grab different colors from different parts of the pan, then you can layer them together by patting one over the other and get the duochrome gorgeousness! I'm so excited for next week!!

The kabuki is very unique, because it has a flat angled top and is nice and firm - will make swipes across the cheekbones fool-proof. The 234 is a little different than other similar ones, but not so different that if you have another flat, longish synthetic, you couldn't just use that. The other two are all purpose type brushes I'd mostly recommend for people who don't have any really good quality brushes, since they're really well made and basic. Specktrettes probably won't need 'em though.

I took swatches of everything when I checked out the collection last week, but my photos were so bad I didn't bother to post them. I might try again with everything over Big Bounce shadows if no one else does that, once I pick everything up.

Sounds like I should skip the Rose quartz and get another MES and just get Light flush, glissade or Perfect topping from a blog sale... what do you think?

If you have the pinkish MB from Fabulous Felines or even Giggly MB from Quite Cute, you don't need any other MSF to compare, in my opinion.

Like I've said before, the texture on Pearl and Goldstone is really nice and different from other MSFs - very wet look - like what other MSFs look like when you apply them with Fix+, but since you don't need to wet your brush, you don't get the noticeable pores you normally would - plus not frosty - just wetttttt. Good for all over the face for major glow on par with the Magically Cool Liquid Powder, but less powdery and a bit sheerer.

I like Pink too, but it's a weird cool pink/taupe frosty effect - not for everyone for sure and something you'd need to swatch on your face in a store or you might hate it. It gave me this retro-80s, dirty robot lady look that I thought was very unusual, stylish and slimming for my face shape, but it's a statement look....not something you'd necessarily want to wear if you work in a bank, hehe. I'd say it's the sort of highlight you'd want to wear at a late summer pool party where people wear high heels and jewelry with their bikinis, or for going out in skimpy dresses in the fall.

I have Stereo rose, petticoat, nars deepthroat. Would that be sufficient or should I just get the rose one anyway?
I'm planning on getting both Goldstone and pearl for sure though:)

Meh, try it in person, but I thought it was boring compared to the others and considering the amazingness of so many other products in this collection, anything you can skip is a good thing hehe!

Hi Liba
You mentioned that you were able to get about 7 different looks from unsurpassable..can you give a few examples of your different looks with this shadow cause its on my maybe list and you might be able to let me know if its worth it..thanks

I second that! please share photos esp since the amount of veining in the mes seems to dramatically change the end result of the swatches! does anybody know if mineral mode is a dupe for prance?

i'm so jealous that all you pro guys are ordering early! please share your thoughts and pics with us! :)

Thanks for the review and swatches, Katjamo!
I love both Geo Pink and Gem of Roses! Strange, I always love the lip products more than the other stuff in mineral collections.

Musky Amethyst looks so gorgeous in the tube, and I keep seeing it and thinking I want it but the swatches are just lackluster, boo! I'll wait to try it in store. Does anyone with Gem of Roses know of a decent dupe? I've got a friend who wants it but she's a bit skint at the moment so can't afford it. I haven't seen it in person to be able to determine a drugstore dupe. Also, the Rose Quartz MSF... what's the verdict on it? Glittery and chunky or not? I may get that for her as a birthday gift (she mentioned wanting it) but I don't want to get her something crappy. She hates chunky glitter, sort of.

As a side note, Smoked Ruby is MINE. :D
