MAC - Semi Precious Discussion

Although I don't have many MAC brushes( total of three) I was considering skipping these 4 brushes to get a set of 9 by Roque Cozzette to save some cash and to get more for my money. I haven't made my full decesion yet. I plan on ariving bright and early to MAC to try out everything I have had my eye on.

Who has decided to SKIP the brushes ??? Please tell me your reasoning behind it, so maybe I can jump on the no buy brush banwagon!!!!!

Maybe limited yourself to just one brush, though if you get the kabuki, it will still be a lot of $$$. Just evaluate what brushes you have in your stash, and more important, which ones you use on a daily basis. E.g., if you don't use your existing kabuki now, then you probably don't need the duo-side one.

If the duo-side brushes work well, I anticipate that they will become perm - maybe in a revised version - at some point in the near future.

I should have stayed away from Karla's swatches. I had only intended on buying the lipsticks due to financial issues. Now, I want Hint of Sapphire back on my list as well as Clarity, Unsurpassable & Golden Gaze. ,

I'm still proud of my "only brushes" choice!!! I will spend a lot anyway XDXDXD as I said before I also like geo pink, but now I have the chance to by Jealousy wakes, so I pass on GP and if when I go to the store it is till there I can buy it ^^

I'm sticking to lipsticks and a lipglass this pass around. gem of roses, one of a kind, and looks like sin.
put myself on a no-no list for MSFs and blushes, because i have way too many coming my way. And no eyeshadows, although golden gaze is tempting me.

I'm skipping the brushes simply because Mac brushes are way overpriced imo. I have loads of Gosh and other brand (cheap) brushes and they do the job just fine.

Loving Karla's arm of rainbow.

Um yeah, if you are trying to narrow your list, do not look at Karla's swatches. LOL! All of the e/s look amazing.

I should not have looked at KArla's swatches... now I also want clarity! I already have six mes' on my list too! :(

-Golden Gaze
-Smoked ruby
-Quartz Fusion
-Hint of sapphire
-Unsurpassable
-Blue Sheen
:(

Christine put up photos of the brushes. It's not a review (yet), but more of a description as she wants to try them out for a bit before putting up a review.

I really hope that this and Fashionflower come out in the UK tomorrow, but I have a feeling that we'll have to wait another week :(

I don't own any nude lipsticks, so I'm definitely going to look at Lush Amber instore, and maybe a few of the e/s (I got paid yesterday :D)

Karla's swatches are usually the one thing that drives me over the edge when I'm debating a product.

I'm going to compare it to that one from Peacocky see how similar they are. I'm really trying not to come home with dupes.
It's verrrrry similar to Spectacle of Yourself. The main difference is the texture - the MES is thicker and denser, even when dry. SoY is more light reflective and easier to blend out to very sheer. Smoked Ruby has a blacker base and more of a flat sheen that sits on top of it with some minute sparkle particles that will never catch the light except in strong, direct sun.

Personally I think Spectacle of Yourself is way prettier, more versatile and easier to work with, but if you don't have it, Smoked Ruby is like the fall version of it.
