Thanks! That knocks Smoked Ruby off my list. Why don't you have a blog?![]()
does anyone know what karla (karlasugar) does to get her swatches so vibrant? she says she uses no primer so what does she do?!
She said she applied them dry, so first off, she has really good color balance on her camera and good natural light. Then, for these shadows, I'm sure she patted the color on either in layers or maybe in a really thick swipe, but for sure she used a thick, firm brush and didn't blend! These MES don't do well with circular blending at all.
Believe me, trying these with a base, we got the colors super dense and vibrant - even more than in her swatches. It's like night and day with a lot of them!
When I called my store to double check the date I asked the ma about the brushes. She basically said the same thing. She said that she had not tried this one but that she never used the one that she did have and didn't sound impressed. I like the look of this one and the slant but I never use my kabuki either. So I need to be realistic and skip it.Maybe limited yourself to just one brush, though if you get the kabuki, it will still be a lot of $$$. Just evaluate what brushes you have in your stash, and more important, which ones you use on a daily basis. E.g., if you don't use your existing kabuki now, then you probably don't need the duo-side one.
did she say why she wouldn't recommend the kabuki? I love applying foundation with my standard kabuki and thought that the different hairs on this kabuki might give me different coverage/finish?right i am going to be good and skip the kabuki. i spoke to Erin yesterday who said that she doesn't find the brushes that amazing and when i asked if i needed this kabuki as well as my others she said no. so i always trust her judgement so i shall be skipping![]()
