Has anyone received a confirmation email from Debenhams? I placed my order 4 hours ago and I have still not received it :S

My counter cracked down too. My fav ma said they have to be more strict with the 24 hour hold. I put my stuff on hold last week and there was only 1 goldstone msf left! My counter is doing a summer makeup class next saturday and they said they were only putting stuff on hold for really good customers because they want people to be able to buy the mineralize stuff after the class.
My go to counter is funny. I just called to put a couple of things on hold from this collection and the girl (not my regular MA) said that they didn't get much stuff in and they are not putting stuff on hold as much as they have in the past. She asked me what I'd like to put on hold and she'd let me know if she could do it for me. I only want two things so I told her Rose Quartz MSF and Smoked Ruby mes. She was like, "oh, that's it?! and I was like, "yep!" She said, "I can do that!!! Some people get greedy and from past collections it's been bad." She sounded too through and annoyed. LOL! I was like whoa! Are they cracking down now??? I just thought it was funny how she was venting. So it looks like if you're trying to put more than two of the same item on hold they will not be doing it anymore.

Anyway, I'm getting two things for sure...

rose quartz msf
smoked ruby e/s

I may get Gem of Roses l/s if I like it on myself. I'm not a fan of the finish, but I like that it's sheer, has color and I can wear it everyday w/o it being so bold as I usually am. I am in love with cremesheen glasses, but I'm on a lipgloss no buy because I don't use the ones I have much. And all of the cs glasses I have are LE and I don't want to run out so I wear them sometimes. And I'm not about to buy back ups at that price and not get much product. Anyway, that's it for me. Totally done with this collection.

This caught me completely by surprise! I ordered from Debenhams because I want the points- thankfully I've never had any problems with them :) I went for Rose Quartz MSF, Gem of Roses l/s & Charged Water because they were the items I knew I definitely wanted... I might go back and place another order later..!

Wow after watching Allura apply the shadows it just seemed really hard to apply and stay. It's making me not want any of those shadows.
I was a little wtf, because I'd never in a million years use that type of black bristle brush to apply an MES. You need something rougher than those soft natural hairs to lay them down or they'd just drag and smudge instead of set onto the skin. I usually use the goat hair type, like a 239, but even those aren't the best - i think a semi-stiff synthetic bristle might be the best, plus a sort of longish shape, but with some thickness and fullness to the belly of the brush - the new LE eye brushes look tailor made for this job, especially that 234.

All in all, this has been a collection that has been a huge challenge in the face of makeup lovers - specifically: Are you ready to branch off from your old standby techniques and looks to best use these products? Seriously, all you need to do is look at the promo picture with the eye look. THAT type of eye shadow look - the application, the way it circles the eye, the way it's built up in some unexpected places like the inner crease and up into the brow.... that's the way to wear these shadows, folks, and it's a sexy, beautiful, modern look. BREAK FREE FROM THE PAST!

So i did look with blue sheen and hint of sapphire (and yogurt to blend).

Technical difficulties and tricks: Wear over a white base like milk by NYX or the one in a jar, which is the one i have. Use them foiled and blend with the help of a skin colored eyeshadow (prefferably matte which blends better to the skin and doesnt take away from the MES you are trying to make the main "characters" of the play.

BTW sorry it came out upside down but ave no clue how to change it lol

PS: obvisously these r not amazingly pigmented compared to regular eyeshadows but the light hits and it looks, purple, blue, teal... its pretty impressive actually. Blink.... and they'll faint!

As far as the weight of the product - the VOLUME of product is exactly the same - they're the same damn size. It's just that the formula is different and probably weighs less. This isn't a bad thing at all- you wind up with a really nice blendable finish that feels a lot lighter on the skin that MSF-Natural or some other older, frostier, heavier ones.

I don't like to speak ill of others, but the blogger who made an issue out of the weight of these products was just demonstrating Math Fail, when she forgot the difference between VOLUME and WEIGHT.
Basic math and science fail indeed! If only our early education had used makeup as a teaching tool we all might have learned more:) The powdered ingredients and binders used in cosmetics have tremendously different weights by volume. I've looked at the order of ingredients and I think MAC is actually using more expensive but lighter weight base ingredients this time.

To be honest I'm not that fussed. I wasn't even expecting it to be online until Thursday, so if they deliver before then good, if not, that's fine by me too. It's still worth the £18 points value to wait a few days. Besides last time it was Mac that didn't deliver for ages, I had my Debenhams order delivered before Mac delivered those that were ordered a couple of days before I ordered. So you never know.

I honestly have a feeling Debenhams is going to screw us over and not deliver until after thursday!

Does the formula of these vary alot from previous mes cause I haven't had any issues using other mac mes or is it that we are just learning new application techniques? I always love to learn new techniques! [quote name="liba" url="/forum/thread/174559/mac-semi-precious-discussion/2310#post_2138028"]

It's ALL in the application with these. Not to mention, the way you do a swatch would never be the way you'd actually apply it on your eyes - on your eyes, at the very least, you'd be patting color on, not trying to do some long swipe right across.

I didn't find it gritty, but it wasn't as nice a color for all over the face as the others, except if you have a dark skin tone - then it might jump to the head of the list out of all of them.

Nope it's a wet look that's wetter than MCLP, also smoother than the special reserve highlighting powders, probably most closely related to that wet aspect to the shimmer in My Paradise, except very much smoother and not gold. It's extremely dewey and moist, but not with an oily surface - it still reads as skin instead of greasy or metallic (although Pink is very frosty).

I think the texture is gorgeous, but it's a summer into fall look - it wouldn't look as nice in the winter, except for a very dramatic look. Also definitely on the sexy end of the spectrum, not the demure librarian end.
