MAC - Semi Precious Discussion

My Debenhams order which I placed last week came on the second day after I had ordered it also, if you don't get the eyeshadow you wanted or ordered than I would say return it as its not your fault that they made a mistake. Or you can always order the missing eyeshadow from the MAC site, I don't think any have sold out yet

Well Debenhams have just sent me an email saying they are unable to send it. I still don't know which one it is though grrr. I want to know so I can order it from MAC! I *think* it might be unsurpassable because it matches up to the first email I got in the list order. It is not showing as sold out on Debenhams so I don't know for sure. I don't want to order one from MAC and then find that I've already got that one from Debenhams. Why does something always go wrong when I order MAC?!

If you are a fan of mineralize products, I'm sure you will be fine. That's quite an impressive haul.

A lot of people will wait until Thursday to swatch for themselves and/or they are waiting for the exciting Fall collections and skip the MES as they are more difficult to work with, are too glittery, or have sub-optimal color pay-off when used dry.

I will probably skip all the blushes as the pigmentation seems to be low in combination with reduced wear-time.

Please report back how you like your products. I hope you love them.

Now you're making me worry as I ordered every MES. But I still haven't even had a confirmation e-mail or dispatch e-mail. Keep wondering if I should've broken up my order. Maybe the credit card people thought the big order looked suspicious and didn't authorise the payment? Is that possible? I have just looked though and they have definitely taken the money as my remaining credit limit is down to 55 quid from 400 and something... Or can it still somehow bounce? I WANT MY ORDER NOW!!!

The credit card company usually authorise the transaction and reserve the funds for it, reducing your remaining available credit, even if Debenhams don't actually put the transaction through straight away. I don't know if Debenhams usually take the money when the order is placed, or when it's ready for dispatch

I don't know really. If they have taken the money then your credit card people can't have thought it was suspicious. I wouldn't have thought credit card companies would know what you were buying anyway, it is just a payment to a company. With mine, they had apparently taken the money (I haven't checked) and then refunded me for the missing one. That is what the email said. Don't worry yet, none of the shadows are sold out with MAC yet.

Thanks. I do have a sufficient credit limit and so there shouldn't be any problems with the order money-wise, but I did once get a phonecall from the credit card people asking whether there's been an unusual activity on my account (ie another large Mac order, lol), but that was well after the money went out. I'll be very angry if they're stopping my order because it's too large or looks suspicious, surely PIN numbers and security codes are there to protect your account already. Grrr!

After seeing Temptalia's dupes for each of the products that I want interested in, I have decided to skip this collection in favor of the Make Me Over fall collection and some Inglot. I am more excited for those things... No doubt there are some beautiful things in this collection, and if money was no object, I would surely haul, but I am trying to be more choosy these days.

ok I've tested my 128 better! I dare say it's a strange brush XD you have to pat color but a MUA here said you can use it on top for foundation to have a airbrushed finish O__o I'll try this when I'll use foundation (autumn). I've used it with the MSF sunny by nature and it tends to make more visible the sheen appearance.. this can be good for some and not for others. the finish is quite natural and soft. I've used the natural side (black one??) to pat the color and the synthetic to blend a bit. It is really small!!!! But today that I've used it again is the perfect size. it's not my favourite among the four but I could change my mind using them!!!

On the website it's now listed as cheek brush. Maybe it works well for mineralize blush? I tried to use the 189 for foundation (previously promoted with a mineralize collection) and it did not work for me either, or at least not as the 190 or 191.

I have decided to skip the MES this year again and skipping the brushes in this collection since I'm waiting for the 226 Small Tapered Brush to come out with MAC Make Me Over.

Did the MUA suggest using the tip of the brush to apply foundation rather than the sides? I am thinking of getting the new kabuki for foundation and the 128 for highlighter application but using the 128 for foundation sounds interesting...would love to hear what you think of it for foundation

Well, I did another order. My total damage from this collection is; All the MESs, All the MSFs, All the brushes, WoC and FF blushes, and Gem of Roses ls. Hope these boxes come when the hubs is at work!

Don't panic! Have you tried mes before? You either love them or you don't...I happen to love them and I am hoping to pick up 4-5 when they launch in store on Thursday!
The chat on the forums have just changed to the fall collections because they are new and exciting and some repromotes are being launched that people have been looking for for ages...that doesn't mean that the mineralize collection isn't good. Also, alot of the bloggers reviewing semi-precious are reviewing them because they review all mac collections but they mightn't necessarily be in the "love mes" camp and therefore are just giving their honest opinion that they dont like them...
Personally I love mes cause its like using a pigment without all the fiddling around with loose powders imo. I can still get a quick and easy foiled look first think in the morning by just spritzing a brush with a bit of fix+ and using one of the mes. I use a wash of colour and the result is simple but not flat due to the texture and variation in colour. When I have more time then I can use my beloved piggies. Personally I don't experience fall out or fading/creasing so I haven't had an issue with the quality either...let us know how you get on

It is stupid! At least I know now that it isn't coming at all and I can order it when I find out which one it is. Just hope it isn't sold out by then.
