MAC - Semi Precious Discussion

I'm not sure whether it's me or the site tonight but I can't seem to quote or post at the mo! Edelmc, you're totally right - I am sure I wouldn't be happy with a Jade's Fortune with tons of black in and I'd definitely want Smoked Ruby with lots of red if I decide to get it. I've just found in the past no matter how polite or friendly I am the mac MUAs always appear to be too busy to help customers even when you're the only one in store, I'll be there tomorrow at 11am so here's hoping I'll get lucky. Mac Guy, I think you've saved me a few pennies, I think even though I want the 128 I have several brushes that can do it's job. I have several 187s as I like one for loose powder, one for liquid foundation, and one for bronzer/highligher then I have the 129 and 150 for blushes. So I should be good for once lol Urbansweertheart, I think I'm sold, if they have GoR in store tomorrow I shall be snapping it up My hubby has been awfully sweet and offered to purchase whatever else I want from this collection, he's such a sweetie :wub: So I'm thinking of: (I already have: clarity, unsurpassable, golden gaze, mineral mode, HoS, RQ MSF, mineral charged water) MES: Jade's Fortune, Smoked Ruby MSF: Crystal Pink, Goldstone MB: Feeling Flush Lipstick: Gem of Roses And prep and prime skin refined zone, Off topic but I've been hearing good things about it lately. Is there anything I'm missing out on this collection guys? Anything I should reconsider or any recommendations? I was thinking of maybe seeing if they had a Clarity with no black at all, to see if there is a difference - yes, my name is MrsB and I am a MAC addict! Lol Katred, you look so amazing!

Love this collection!

I quite literally picked this stuff up and drove straight to the theatre to do the make up....nothing like taking it out for a test drive! I am seriously in LOVE with the brushes. I bought 3 of them and the buffer is my fav. My clients went nuts over how it felt on the skin, have to admit it is pretty lux I also bought Semi Precious Goldstone, but left it somewhere backstage

Hopefully it will be returned.



I may go back for some more of the eyeshadows....

Finally getting around to my review on the Semi Precious collection. For reference I am a NC30-35 for the summer.

The MSF's:

Crystal Pink - I think it's gorgeous. It's the most glittery/shimmery one of the bunch, but if you like that, you'll
love it! I love the nipple part of this MSF. Mines a bit corally, perfect for the summer.

Pearl - I am not a huge fan of the outer ring, but I am really digging the nipple of it. Mine has a lot of gold &
burgundy in it. I'll be using the middle, like Crystal Pink for a blush.

Goldstone - OMG, this is just stunning. I am going to order a BU of this one for sure. Just like MAC-Guy said it
gives this gorgeous glow to it. It looks intimidating for the lighter skin-toned girls, but please give it a chance
Everyone can wear this. I am going to make sure that my BU has a bigger nipple, since mine is on the smaller side.
But WOW, that's all I can say about this amazing MSF. I can see this being my HG item like Gold Spill MSF is to me.

Rose Quartz - I love the pink outer ring on this one. Another perfect blush color. When you mix the middle with the
outer, I think would be perfect blush for lighter skin tones. The nipple alone doesn't wow me, but would make a great
highlight for the brow bone.

MB's:

Pressed Amber - I personally LOVE this blush. I have a olive complexion, so it doesn't look "muddy" on me at all!
I can see this being a everyday blush for me, completely BU worthy to me as well. Little to no shimmer which is a nice
change to MB's. Perfect!

Warmth of Coral - Since I am a NC30ish right now for summer, it's not super bright on me, which I like. It's a nice
change to the coral blushes that have come out over the past couple years. Another perfect everyday color for summer.
It's a nice peachy color with a hint of coral. Obviously it's going to be a lot brighter on lighter skin tones than
it is on me.

Feeling Flush - A nice blue based pink blush. Mauve I would say. I think it would be great on olive skin tones. I
am not a huge fan of blue bassed pinks on skin tones that are on the pinker side. But to each their own.
I like that there is no shimmer to this one as well, like the other 2. It's a awesome change to the usual shimmer
that comes along with MB's.

MES's:

Blue Sheen - OMG, just gorgeous. I have She who Dares & Blue Flame. BS doesn't have the glitter that the other 2
have. Which is nice. I find it different enough to have if you have either one of the others. I can't wait to use
wet. Mine has a touch of the peachy veining to it. Doesn't show up much though.

Smoked Ruby - Another buttery smooth MES. I can't wait to rock this one on Sunday! (going to a concert) The red is
definitely going to pop if you put a red/burgundy base underneath.

Golden Gaze - I was going to pass on this one since I has Gilt by Association, I am so glad I didn't! Completely
different. I love how it has a gold foil look to it, just stunning! It's going to look amazing when you pare
it with SR. Perfect fall combo. I would use this all over the lid & use GBA as a crease color.

Clarity - I personally love the multi-color glitter/shimmer this pulls. It looks stunning in the pan & when swatched.
Mine has a lot of pink veining, but really doesn't show when swatched. I know I am going to use this color A LOT! VERY unique

Jade's Fortune - It is completely different than Clarity, so I would get both like I did. But mine has got a lot
of lime green, yellow & royal blue veining. After I swatched the blue faded. Some people said this doesn't really
swatch greenish, but mine did, not majorly. It's a weird color like Clarity.

I bought Clarity & Crystal Pink & a pretty lip color in Capricious!

Clarity is so gorgeous on. I wore mine over ccb Root & applied it just up to the crease.

CP is just so pretty. I used it to highlight in a "C" shape at the outer sides of the eyes & high on the cheekbones. Love it!

The only other things I got which you didn't are Geo Pink which I've not worn yet and Richly Revered which hasn't been delivered yet. I was going to say Hint of Saphire for your eye colour but you already have it. I haven't seen the collection in store yet so can't really say anything else.

I am wearing unsurpassable today on the lid with contrast on the outer third. It is the easiest sexy mermaid look ever! I can't stop looking at - it's ridiculous! I am having probs quoting too today so I don't know if the next part will make sense! MrsB: good luck at the store tomorrow I third the 187 for MSF. I also love it for applying blush, it ensures I don't go over the top with the blush! Gem of roses is a fab mlbb colour for those of us with very pigmented lips Do many people have both jades fortune and unsurpassable? Is it worth having both or are they too similar?

That's a brilliant idea. I have to try this with the Mineralize Sheersheen in Lucent, which is almost identical to CP. What brush did you use?

OMG...this brush I was not so sure about but decided to get it anyway...favorite brush now...I want to use it for everything because it feels like mink against your skin...
