Just got the new PPs yesterday and I am in LOVE!!!! Wanted some application tips from you guys though. Light PPs like Painterly, Bare Study, and now Nubile I use as bases for eyeshadows. With darker colors from this collection (Hyperviolet, Idyllic, Half Wild etc.), what's the best way to use and apply them? With a #217 in the crease? I tried using a #252 to get a denser, deeper color and I had a difficult time getting the color to be uniform on the lid. Any tips or favorite ways anyone likes to use the darker PP, I would love to hear! Thanks!!!

I'm not getting a backup of anything. These paint pots will last me forever. Of course, that never stopped me from backing up an eyeshadow, but I don't use paint pots all that often. I still prefer a colorless base. I tried Fresh Amour again and I'm definitely keeping it. I dotted it around my lips and did the smooshing thing. Then, I put Lavender Wind lipglass on it. It's a subtle purplish lip. I definitely like it.

I like to wear paint pots on their own, mostly and on the lid. I just use my finger and if I have to, I blend the edges with a 217. There aren't any rules, though. These new paint pots are so creamy, I'm sure you can take a 224 or something similar and put them in the crease. If you want to put them on the lid, you can use a 239 or even a fluffy brush if you don't want to use your fingers.

exactly. just have a good play with different brushes and fingers until you get them how you want to look. personally i either pat them on my lids with a clean finger or after applying i will take a little on a 217 brush and just buff it around my crease to get a lighter coverage there.

I like to use the 239 to apply the color to the outer corner and onto the middle lid and then use my finger to soften the edges so I can leave the inner corner light (or add a light paint pot with a 219 on the inner 1/3).
Basically use a stiff brush to deposit the color and then your finger or a 217 to blend it out a bit.
And I always use them as a base, especially the dark ones, which are great if your shadow likes to fade during the day (like mine) because even when the shadow tries to fade the density of the pp remains.

Wow, Genuine Treasure looks kind of streaky. After the streaky quality of the Champale paintpots, I wonder if MAC is losing its touch?
