Does anyone have both rare exotic and candy yum yum? Are they very similar.... I missed out on cyy and am looking for something similar. Is anybody able to do swatches of both?
Really not the same color. RE is like the deeper, more sophisticated Fall version of CYY. If you just want a matte bright pink though, RE is great, because you get that bright matte look while it still feels very light on the lips. CYY was much heavier feeling.

Barry M 52 (Shocking Pink) and 62 (Vibrant Pink) are very close indeed to Candy Yum Yum

I'm in England, so we haven't got Posh Paradise yet, but from the swatches I've seen I'd say Rare Exotic was quite different - deeper pink

For anyone concerned about how red-tinged Half Wild is (as I was when I first swatched it), try Hint of Sapphire over it.....it is DIVINE! So is Parfait Amour, violet pigment, Cornflower pigment....etc.

And Smoked Ruby over Hyperviolet is absolutely amazing! I am loving these two paint pots so far, the creaminess, the opacity, the lack of frost....all awesome.

I went and checked this out at my Macy's and they were not sold out of any of the PP! So if you want anything, I would try at your local counter. What I was more excited about was they had not sold out of Legendary Mattene so I got this and Naked Bliss after swatching all the Mattenes. I liked Deliciously Forbidden but they were sold out of that one. I had to talk myself out of Eden Rouge because I wear red lipstick about once every 3 months but it was awesome.

Theoretically I am done with this collection but in reality if I go back and they still have PP, I could see myself getting some more. I skipped the blue ones (too dark for me) but I could go for the lighter yellow Treasure Hunt PP--I had to look up the name because I can't keep the two "treasure" PP names straight! I did not get any back ups because I have yet to use up any entire PP. Of all of these, I liked Genuine Treasure the best, followed by a straight up tie between Idyllic and Half Wild.

I know I should get more of the Mattenes and will regret if I don't but they seem dupeable and I am not really sure they are so unique. Is the formula really so special I should stock up on the colors I like? What do you ladies like the most about them?????
What I like most about the Mattenes is the formula.  They go on so smoothly and don't leave my lips feeling like I've spread glue across them that has dried.  I have always avoided matte lip products like the plague because I cannot stand for my lips to feel dry.  Also, the colors seem very concentrated and they are just a pleasure to use and wear!

What she said. Great formula, lots of pigment and they apply like a dream and stay put. You can wear them full-on or as a stain, and even the stain stays on very well. I also like the colors, very classy, but still not old lady. They never made me look dead, even though they are matte. Well, I only have the previous colors, have not seen Posh Paradise yet, but I assume they are the same formula.

Oh, thanks, cannot wait to try Cornflower and Parfait Amour with it. Hope the collection shows up soon here.

I actually compared the two at the store. The color is pretty close, but the textures are way, way different. If you want to rock the matte look, RE is what you want. If you just want bright pink and already have other lippies like GAT, no need for it.

I used to only buy bright pink lipsticks when I didn't wear makeup often and even then, I still had a matte one and a glossier one, since the effect is so different. I've stopped buying bright pink lippies since then, since I felt like I have plenty of them, but I did get RE for the color and texture, where I haven't given in to most other bright pinks in the past couple of years. The Mattenes are special because they feel really light but they have a serious matte texture.

Probably Deliciously Forbidden and Rare Exotic mattenes, and probably around 6 paint pots. Oh and Rain of Flowers nail polish.

If I want to wear the mattenes as a stain, and in a perfect world I want that stain to be a color somewhere between berry and brick (not fuschia toned)....which lippie is best:
Unknown Pleasures, Legendary, or Seeds of Desire?

And for anyone who owns Unknown Pleasures, are you loving it? Does it stay deep rich berry?

I don't know why I am hell bent on making UP work when I am sure Legendary would actually solve all my problems :)

I only picked out one mattene lipstick . . . Rare Exotic , I havent tried mattene lipsticks before so I wanted to give the formula a try !!
Nice haul! have you tried out the PPs yet? If so, how are you liking them?

any pics?? I should try smoked ruby over dark diversion then! ^^ I won't buy hyperviolet (too similar to dark diversion) but I keep on thinking about idyllic ....idyllic with smoked ruby ....

This is exactly what crossed my mind when I was looking at Smoked Ruby last night.
Bah! All this talk of combos makes me wish I had worn my contacts today so I could play with colors when I get home! Then again, nothing says I can't put my contacts in then! I'd really like to try My Dark Magic over Hyperviolet of Half-Wild + Pixie Epoxy (cause mineralize shadows don't seem to stick to paint pots alone) to see what I get.

Anyway, I swatched Gilded Treasure on my hand and I keep looking at it! It's so...sparkly! But it's completely sheer, so I'm not sure how/where I'd wear it which is why I hesitated to purchase it today.

I'll try to take some pics for you. I tried Smoked ruby over Artifact (very similar to Idyllic) and while it was a very very pretty bright coppery frost, it was not as rich and deep as over Hyperviolet. Over Hyperviolet you get the depth from the black in Smoked Ruby and then you get the beautiful red frost on top of that. I am guessing that it will do the same thing over Dark Diversion, but I will say that Hyperviolet has an opacity that I can't get my Dark Diversion to rock as a base.......

I have Butter London Wallis and MAC Immortal gold on the same finger and its safe to say they are NOTHING alike. Wallis is a darker tarnished looking gold and Immortal gold is more a tarnished yellow gold. Safe to say I would not call these dupes for each other. Similar yes... cousins yes... Dupes? no!
