So I tried on La Furtive today on fresh lips LOL & I don't hate it on me, but I'm not in love with it either

Nude peach & pink glosses do look good over it, but I think I will play with it a bit more. I do have to be wearing makeup or it kinda makes me look weird/dead

Maybe because you don't have warm undertones, although the dead without other makeup I find with all nudes. Did you try using it to tone down some of the brighter velvets like I think Haven and HG have mentioned?

No, not yet but I will. I do really like how it tones down my lips under nude glosses. I think I will try like a light rose pink ls over it to see what happens. Did you see MAC's Flamingo on those models? I really like that color so far.

I got so impatient with waiting for my eBay order that I ordered LaFurtive from Chanel.com. Considering that I will have two soon, I really hope I like this.

This seems to be one of those colors that you can use with different liners to alter the color. I also think it will be a great base color for nude glosses.

I like Furtive with my bbq, stone, or creamola.. but my fave so far is to totally fill in with Purr (Senna) liner and put the Furtive on top.. it gives a soft pink base but keeps the tone of Furtive.. just pinks it up with no shine.

^^ Sounds gorgeous! I want soft pink lips too, like I'm born with them.

elegant - Have fun experimenting with Furtive. I like marine el too but I never bought it. And you finally got Night Magic! I was this close to buying it, and have forgotten about it until now..

So after days of being down with the stomach flu (not fun times, I'm still not quite over it

) I pulled out my Velvets sample pack to give L'Exuberante and La Ravissante a go. As I expected L'Exuberante was WAY too cool neon pink for my skin tone so that's a pass. La Ravissante, however, surprised me. I dismissed it when I first tried it in-store as being too neon as well, but after reading suggestions on staining rather than applying as per usual I like it a lot more. It's a pretty coral-peach-pink that was quite flattering against my yellow-toned tan, and when I dabbed a little Sparkle D'Or on top just for kicks the effect was quite pretty. I'll wait till it gets closer to spring though as it's not the kind of color I'd pull out now.

I wonder if La Furtive would work for me. It 's so tempting.

Although I've just used it from the sample card (I've now managed to accumulate three), I tend to agree. I found that one and L'Exuberante were trickier for me and emphasised some imperfections. La Fascinante works better on me than any of them. However, I also have to say that how drying something is on me can vary a lot from one week to the next. For instance, I found the MUFE Rouge Artist Intense fairly dry/ drying the first time I wore it (more so than the Velvets), but haven't had any problems since. I still love these and will wear them happily all through the winter months.

elegant - What do you pair Night Magic with? Can't wait for you to get Marine el and Emerville and hear your thoughts. I remember you talking about the mac MUA with the pink lips! I have a friend with pretty pink lips too.

katred - Funny, because I found the Rouge Artist Intense a bit drying too when I first wore it. It was Moulin Rouge. I don't find it overly drying now, and I have 34 too. I have Distinguee on today and I still find it not moisturising enough, so I'm not buying more velvets yet, but I love the finish and the colours. I'm looking forward to the spring 2012 Paradis Rouge Coco.

I'd love to know what people are pairing with Night Magic, too. I remember seeing that e/s on Cafe Makeup ages ago and completely forgot about until Elegant posted. I also wanted to check out Lavande, but it seems to be gone (story of my life). What about Amethyst -- does anyone have that one?? I own several quads, but no single Chanel eyeshadows

what is up with that?!? lol

When I first read this, I thought you meant you'd bought 34 of the Rouge Artist lipsticks... then I realised what you meant. You know what's really crazy? When I thought that, what occurred to me was "lucky her".

Although I don't find the Velvets are as good as the Lancome mattes in terms of dryness, they're far better than others and I don't have a problem putting balm on before my lipstick, which seems to the trick. Does anyone else consider it ironic that the season where deep, matte lips are most popular is also the season when we all get chapped lips?

It's ridiculous, but I'm already dying for information on the Spring program, especially the lippies. I absolutely loved the Chanel Spring 2011 lipsticks (although Peregrina didn't work on me). I'm curious to see what we'll get in 2012.

When Magic Night first came out the collection also included the single Liberty and the Mystic Eyes quad:

What didn't you like about it? I am tempted to try it but, I am afraid I might like like it either.

I wore La Furtive today and the best I can say is that it is an 'ok' color. It's very warm, I see alot of peach/brown when I wear it. You definitely need a liner with this one. If you are on the fence, I can't recommend it. If I had a chance to swatch it in the store, I wouldn't have purchased it.

The one I ordered from chanel.com but I'm stuck with the one from eBay - I'm sure I'll find a way to make it work with some different lip liners.

I just have to throw in another rave for La Raffinee. I work in a dentist's office, so I don't want to wear red lips but I cannot do nudes everyday. I want something not too shimmery and juvenile (that's too be saved for my personal time )That's why I've been reaching for La Raffinee and it gets me through the day in style. It stays on for hours even though I am constantly putting on and taking off a face mask. The color doesn't go all over my face and it doesn't look flat or make my lips look dry and crazy. Love, love, love it.
