Guerlain discussion

Thanks! Is Rose Innocent Rouge G what Natalie was wearing in the promo pic? I have to get it! My first Rouge G! Funny that the quad is so similar to the holiday quad. I thought they are the same until she compared them side by side. Wonder why would Guerlain do that. The highlighter is gorgeous! Anyone seem the LM highlighter? It looks like a deeper rose than the Guerlain in her comparison. I saw the LM highlighter, now I wonder if I should get it or wait for Guerlain. I have the bronzey EL Mercury gelee too.

She have pics of the collection earlier!

I love all the Rouge Gs and the kisskiss glosses too, but I don't like the scent of the kisskiss glosses and lipsticks. Do the Rouge Gs smell like them?

I saw the LM highlighter and it looks fairly close to the EL one. It's a bit darker/ more bronze. I think the Guerlain one looks lighter/ pinker than both.

I think that Rose Innocent is what she's wearing in the promo photo, but it's hard to tell without seeing all of them. It's funny, because it seems like kind of a dupe-able pink, but I really like it. It looks like it might be similar to the Spring Rouge G's from 2010- a little bit sheerer than normal. (Not that that's a problem- I have two of the Spring 2010 ones and they're among my most used lipsticks).

I didn't get the spring 2010 lipsticks because I didn't want a Rouge G then, and didn't like that they were sheer. Yeah it looks dupe-able. I'll decide when I see them in person, so excited! I put on my mini Coque D'or today. Love the colour, but not the scent. Does the Rouge G smell like the RA?

I like my Guerlain Rouge G in 60 (Gabrielle) alright...but I just feel like a lot of the products are just too expensive for the quality.

I wish I didn't like them in a way... Would make it easier to save money. But it's probably my favourite lipstick formula, up there with Rouge d'Armani.

I cannot tell you how much I adore your avatar, by the way. Wonderful!!

Kate, speaking of lipstick formulas, I'm going this weekend to check out some of the Lancome mattes, based on your recs. I want to see what Corset is all about, and a few of the others. I have some of the Color Design lipcolors (from the great deal that Lancome offered last summer) but have no mattes.

The mattes are truly exceptional. I really like the Chanel velvets, but I still think that Lancome has the edge in terms of formula. (I prefer the Chanel colours, but Lancome has some good ones too.) Corset is just an amazing coral for me, there's a great movie-star red and there's a shade called "Stylista", I think, which seems like it's the sort of shade that could work on everyone (seriously). Hope you enjoy!

Katred -- what is the scent like on the Lancome mattes?

To the best of my recollection, there isn't a scent. If there is, it fades pretty quickly. The ones I have are a few months old, but none of them have any scent I can detect now.

^^Oh good -- I think Lancome just has one formula that is prefumey. I got an email about the Lancome F&F -- maybe I should check out their mattes!

I feel like the lipsticks look a lot alike, but I suppose we'll see when they actually hit stores.

And from Blushing Noir:

^^So.Gorgeous. Did we ever find out if that highlighter is a powder or a cream or gel formula? I'm dying to see swatches of those perfect looking pink lipsticks . . .

I feel the same too, the Rouge Gs look so close. I'll have trouble picking out the one I want. I think the highlighter has the new gelee formula like EL and Laura Mercier.

The eye quint is right up my alley, and I agree, it's tough to distinguish the RGs, but I'm sure they're all great. And the powder will be mine as well.

Odd that the quint and the quad would be so similar -

Yes, I was sort of puzzled as to why they'd have a pink quad and the quint. However, as I might have predicted, I like the larger, more expensive item way more. Sigh. I'll see if it's a must have once I have a look at the lipsticks. The one thing I'm sure of right now is the highlighter.

I also have to say that I found it kind of odd that for Spring, they aren't including a Rouge Automatique in the mix. I guess maybe they're trying to match the dollar value for last year's collection in the hopes that sales stay the same or rise.

Totally agree - I like the RA if only for the fact that they don't weigh as much as a barbell. I also like the quint better ;).

Here is a review of the spring quad and the new mascara! I'll pass the quad. The 6-colour palette looks more beautiful to me too. http://www.fruitylashes.com/guerlain-spring-2012-ecrin-4-couleurs-eyeshadow-11-les-roses-noir-g-mascara-01-noir-swatch-review-and-look-8426/ Temptalia has reviews of Roae Innocent and the highlighter. The highlighter looks stunning in the pan.

Thanks for the link, I think I do already have enough pinks to not be interested in the quad. Although the purple looks very interesting. The mascara looks very interesting, especially the wand, but scented mascara is a no-go for me. And the whole mascara probably weighs as much as the rest of my makeup bag.

Lol on the weight of the mascara. I wonder if we can buy the mascara and is it useable without buying the casing. The handle is probably tricky to hold without the casing.
