Chanel Spring 2012 collection

eye singles- not much to report after I was overwhelmed with the quad. The pale color is matte. Tiger Lily has glitter partickles and I dont think it is extra pigmented.

eye liner- I think I might be getting this, color is similar to the darkest color from quad but leans more red.

nail polishes- these are total cremes I believe, no shimmer or anything else in them. April was not as bright as I expected from promo pics. very pretty, but probably dupable. May to me looked like creme version of Morning Rose. June is more pale as I expected.

RCs- hmmm these looked too dry, I liked best the darkest color

RCshines- the pale one is clear frost, the orange one is quite bright, almost like Liberte but the undertone of this one is different than liberte,


RC baume- this is clear, so it is a lip balm, I dont think I would buy lip balm form Chanel ever, I prefer natural products in this category

Glossimers- the pink one is bright, the rest swatched clear (I am not exactly sure if those 2 clear ones were the ones from the collection)


now you ask, what did I get?

NOTHING, I walked away.
I am going to try to sneak some Christmas ideas to my BF or in worst case will wait for Lord& Taylor F&F sale.


Dont even ask how hard was it to walk away from the quad!!!!!

Thanks for the review! The quad, blush and pink glossimer are on my definitely list. I have to see the polishes and RC in person before I decide!

I am also on a no buy for high-end nail polishes unless is something trully exceptional. I just recently (year ago) got into nail polish and now I have so many (there are many shades in Revlon and Essie and seasonal Maybelline, that I like) that I just dont get to wear each of them so often and I do change my nail color 1-2 times per week.
Quartz I wore 2 times since I got it, Exquis once.

I wonder how long Chanel polishes would last? I noticed that Black Pearl got thicker and it was harder to apply it evenly.

^^ We shall stay strong on the no buy together. I bought many last year and some this year, and I don't wear nail polishes much so they are just wasted sitting in my drawer. I find the Chanel polishes last very long, though some seem to be thicker and gets thicker faster.

I am dying to see swatches of Charme and Paradis! I love the color of Superstition -- just hope it isn't frosty at all. The new lipliners look gorgeous, too (rose corail and boise de rose). Bonbon does look quite a bit like the holiday beige glossimer -- but I might just have to get Bagatelle. It looks like a gorgeous pink (maybe with gold??) -- I would love to see what it looks like over Enivree. When do you think this collex with hit your counters??
You're right about it looking like the model shading her eyes from the sun LOL She is so gorgeous -- I die over her skin every time!

I was wondering the same thing. I am loving the colors in this collection -- they all look just like a sunset. I will pretend I am on a beach somewhere instead of being in the cold

How are your Christmas preparations coming?? Are the kids coming to visit you soon? I am having too much fun getting everything together for my girls.
I have my cards ready to mail and little neighbor gifts ready . . . I just have to wrap and get a few things in the mail. wahoo

I've keep decorating I wrapped big boxes in silver & red door foil with red ribbon & red or silver bead strands draped off of them. 3 stacked red presents at my garage door to the house, 2 silver with red on my front porch steps & a stack of 5 mixed silver & red from large to small stuck in the corner of the front porch with gorgeous silver & snowflake ribbon tied around all of them. All weatherproofed of course. I've been done shopping but keep adding. My theme this Christmas is all red with white snowflakes, white with red snowflakes & silver. I even bought these adorable Martha Stewart little food gift boxes that are red with white snowflakes to put goodies in for the stockings. Oh, & I have several Martha Stewart snowflake punches that I'm using to add some flair to everything. Yes, the kids are coming home for Christmas & they are so excited already.

Hmm, Nordies is showing square pans for the quad so I guess the US isn't getting the baked version after all.

I've decided for certain to skip the blush--I need to use up what I have. Though I might (finally) pick up Ebloui, I think it'd pair quite nicely with the quad.

EDIT: Looks like those other Rouge Cocos aren't Euro-only as I see the placeholders on Nordies' site...I might have to give the line a second look.

Yes to the beach with the supermodel body (in my dreams)! I need to see more swatches, too -- to see what I "need".
All of your decorations sound gorgeous. I have all red, silver, and white, too -- it reminds me of a Winter Wonderland.
The Martha Stewart stuff sounds adorable -- I love her cute crafty line at Macy's and Micheals.

Just saw this collection as I was headed for the exit @ Macys. Had to double back because I couldn't believe I was actually seeing Spring makeup on the 5th od December. Kinda hard to wrap my brain round that one. But it's BEAUTIFUL! I heard the Almighty Enabler cheering me on as I picked up the glossimers and then there was the SA telling me how gorgeous the deeper colored cheek color would look on me. But I resisted!!!!!!!! I left with nothing. And I will leave this thread with all this Spring Collection talk as soon as I end this sentence before I manage to convince myself to stop back by the counter and pick up a thing or two

I'm going to wait until after the holidays anyway - too much to think about between now and then - plus, chances are stuff will still be in stock. The holiday highlighter and everything else are still available at Nordies, so I'm not too concerned about sell-outs. Of course, I could end up reegretting that move .

I can't even think about Spring anything really because it hasn't even gotten cold yet and Winter hasn't even officially come. How in the world can I think of Spring- a warming up? I mean that Collection looked totally out of place LOL
