geeeeez with all this drama it's really turning me off for all the new collections! i just watched a haul on youtube where the girl bought five or six QS, so....SHE'LL never be out of it. What's to stop these evil ebayers from doing the same thing? Which, they defiately do!

Really, makeup shouldn't be worth all this hype, and it just feels silly to know that i've fallen for it, refreshing away...

I think on limited edition products, there should be a limit of two when bought online. It's not fair when the ebayers have 6-10 which means the rest of us can't buy at retail. Also, I got an ad from MAC in the mail today for Shop/Cook with several pages of pictures advertising the products. Why send this now when almost everything is sold out?

It's been hard not to back things up because most of us have that fear we will love it and then run out and have to hunt it down or buy it on Ebay. I guess I'm starting to realize that I never use an entire lipstick. I have so many lipsticks it's unreal and I'm always buying more, so I started swapping out all of my backups on makeupalley. It's just silly to waste $ on backups that sit in a drawer. It's better to let someone else enjoy them and swap them for something new I want to try without having to spend crazy amounts of money on Ebay. I suppose for a makeup artist, you have more of a reason to backup items, but for the average Joe like me it's just silly. I'm REALLY trying to just buy 1 item and not 2!

That's just plain silly! Unless it's the only lipstick she's planning to wear in the coming years. I've just realized that I already own a really close dupe of QS, which I purchased this morning: Hollywood Nights. And I'm sure there are plenty more dupes or even re-releases to come in future :)
I'm still sad I missed out on Party Parrot, but hopefully I'll finally be able to completely kill the lemming with Force of Love. There is no way in hell those ebay h00rs (very nicely worded by martiangurll, LOL) are getting my money

Why shouldn't somebody openly state how many BU's they got? If it is your favorite product, you might go through it quite fast, especially with lippies and powders. It might be different for blushes and e/s, where you use less product.

Still, I get the point that it can be frustrating to see that one person has a lot of BU's whereas another one got none. However, as I stated before, buying MAC is a glorified full-time gambling job (to be lucky enough to get the products + stalking 24/7 stalking the website from one week before the release until a few weeks later for restocking). But as there are so many new releases, there is enough new goodies for everybody. Happy hauling everybody and fingers crossed that you get what you want.

I think it' fine as long as you are going to use them for yourself and not mark them up by 200% and resell. Sure, 6 is excessive, but if they are for her own personal use then cool. IT only mkes me upset when they buy all the stock and then rip people off on ebay or whatever.

Ugh...that is so greedy. I would feel bad knowing I was buying that many of an item and causing that many people to not be able to have any at all. The only items I've ever gotten backups of are Famously Fab Lipglass and Dare To Dare Lipglass and there were plenty of those to go around. I do kinda wish I had backed up Bubblegum Lipstick though, I wear it sooo much.

Glamqueen21 inspired me to purchase Dish It Up.

I usually don't buy backup Mac products because I know they will always come out with something new and better that I will want. I have way too many lipsticks, so it's hard for me to justify buying backups. However, there are a few lip products that I've had to repurchase, but I have enough to last me a lifetime and then some. I wish they would bring Viva Glam SE lipglass back. I actually went through 2 of those in one year.

this is true, haha! you make me feel a little better...
after all, the things i was lemming so much over now are in the back of my mind and it's on to the next... :D

i just like how the nicki minaj email thing worked, where you got the opportunity to try it, just one, and before launch to where if you wanted back ups by then you could.
it's just ridiculous how much these items get marked up on ebay, but i suppose no system is a perfect system. i just want my lippies!! lol

i feel the same way! when i found out coygirl blush was getting discontinued (which my counter hadn't heard of? so...it may not be?) i bought 1 backup...but honestly, i'm the kind of person that likes the certain look of a color, not necessarily it's name or what collection it's from...and honestly so many things are dupable...so i wouldn't buy tonssss of a product, i just think that's a little excessive...but, she's a lucky girl i guess lol

This is why I skip stuff sometimes, because I hate to return it then it gets wasted and someone missed out. But if I have to do that in the future because of lack of product and microscopic stock supplies so be it.

Okay folks, I am over my little rant. I can't fault MAC for being capitalists after all, they are an American company; its all about the Benjamins, I get it. Plus, you knew I would be suckered back in soon, addicted, right?

I suppose I'm the only one here that thinks that unless there is a store policy not to sell more than one item to a customer, it was wrong for the MUA not to allow her additional product regardless of how many they received. It's not the customers fault that MAC won't stock their items. If they did it well enough the eBayers wouldn't have enough reason to buy mass quantities if the average person could pay less directly from MAC.

Shame on MAC!

In the case of multiple QS backups, man, more power to her. I love it and considered a BU but it was sold out. Am I mad at her or anyone that bought 10? No... Because its MACs fault that I can't get a damn BU. oh well....

I think that MUA meant it well, but when someone wants just 2 lipsticks, it's lame. What if someone cannot get to Mac themselves and asks you for a favour to pick up a lipstick extra for them :S

My favorite f/s store has a policy of three items max of one product in one transaction. I'm not sure if there is an official policy.
