Adding to that, viruses like the herpes virus don't survive long in the environment, so the chance of it 'living' in your pot is near impossible compared to bacteria.

I got a flyer for Shop/Cook in the mail yesterday. Talk about late....

There seems to be a whole lotta WTF in MACs marketing dept...

I know I always say this, but I'm amazed at how fast things run out at the counters! This collection launched today at ten at counters in Sweden. I went by one at twelve and they had only one more Watch me simmer left. They'd gotten seven in total and all but one disappeared in two hours!

The stock in US stores is sometimes even smaller, i.e. 3 - 4 items per piece. Sad, but at least it assures that a collection will sell out and it won't clog up the store.

Seems the stock is the same all over.

But I really can't understand how profitable it is to develop new products continuously if they sell only hundreds/some tousands(?) of them???

yeah, that's true. there always seem to be some LE items they haven't calculated the number accurately with that seem to hang around at the counters for ages. it's interesting though to see that some items sell better at certain locations around here...for example the naturally mineralize blushes totally sold out at some store/counters, and still some left at another...the locations being a 10 minute walk from one another!!!

If I were in charge of a MAC store right before a major launch like S3C3, I would try to keep a steady stock of products in the store. Maybe it's because I work in product/stock management for gift shops at Sea World, but what I would do is right when people call to pre-order items, I would look at the quantities I have already minus the pre-orders so then I would know what I am working with for the official launch. If I know I am not going to have much, I would reorder an ample amount of backstock at least to get me through the first weekend and keep ordering little by little and then as the hype wears out so do my quantities...just a thought.

This would be a brilliant idea. MAC should work on improving their supply chain management.

I just think that maybe preorders and special launch parties take up most of the stock and this isn't taken into consideration...so when the general public finally has access, there's little to nothing left.
