MAC So Reel / Reel Sexy discussion

I'm sort of hopeful that the difference in finish will make a bit of a difference in how purple the colour looks. I love Violetta, but I find that it's beautiful shimmer makes it look mostly like a cool magenta on me- it's not intensely purple at all! BRING ON THE GRAPE POPSICLE LIPS.

It was Rose Platine. Thanks for reminding me. I just dug it out and swatched it on my hand. Although the lighting is not as bright in my house as it was in the store, I believe Heirloom was more lavender. Heirloom is silvery like Rose Platine but with a stronger and cooler lavender tone to it. Not quite a dupe but close enough that you might like it.

Rose Platine is my go-to-eyeliner, so I'm really happy that Heirloom comes close. Will def. check it out!

Completely agree. Tried Violetta on last night to remind myself of what it looks like, very duo chrome magenta purplish sorta kinda lol. So having a flat color like Heroine will be a welcome change.

I was checking through the department store websites just in case, and Dillard's has Pink Cult and Lightscapade up under the Blush and MSF categories. Maybe they'll have more later today?

seeing as i was pretty excited about this collection, swatches have left me feeling a bit meh about it. all i want is reel sexy lipstick. i might end up with a couple of other bits but right now i'm not being grabbed. any recs for me for things that are awesome?!

im with you on this....first i wanted Pp but after seeing swatches its not worth it....reel sexy looks beautiful..like a creamsicle orange ....i love heroine but honestly cant afford it since im getting stuff from the other 2 collections....i just dont wear purple THAT much to buy it...i do wish though...cuz to me its just one of those colors that you just have to have and have to collect...heh blahhh darn budget

It pulls super red on me also, it does not look coral on me at all. Its so strange

I'm undecided on whether to skip this collection. I'm debating Heirloom eye pencil and Watch Me Simmer. When I saw it WMS at the Shop Cook event, it looked gorgeous on everyone wearing it but I thought it would look too bright for me. Last week, I went to the Pro store and the MA had this beautiful lip color on. I rarely ask the MAs what they are wearing. I don't know why but I had to know. The first thing out of her mouth was "its soldout!" but she told me it was Watch Me Simmer. I didn't even recognize the color, it looked more red on her. Whereas, during the shop cook event, it looked really coral on the MAs. I guess it really looks different depending on the skintone. I still think it looks bright but I'm wondering if Elegant's dab and smush method might work for me and I do like brighter colors for summer so maybe . . .

Heirloom - I just tried it on the bottom lash line and liked it but I didn't try it on the upper lash line. Some reviews said it was hard to work with. But I wonder if it is too similar to a Chanel pencil I bought a while ago yet rarely use.

I've decided on Reel Sexy and Watch Me Simmer, I might have to find ways to make Watch Me Simmer look less bright on me though. I'm hoping it will be more of a pinky/corally color on me.

Just placed my order. Got a little overwhelmed & confused. I totally forgot what I had originally wanted. I had everything in my cart! Not to worry. I removed a lot.

Yep, it's finally up on the regular site. Final list was Heroine, Pink Cult, Immortal Flower, Modern Mandarin, Lovecloud, Superb, and Glorify. I tried a bunch of random words (extra, cheek, cheeks, dimension, reel, sexy, reelsexy, yadda yadda) for a 2-day shipping code but no luck. Oh well...just happy to have gotten my order in early!
