Guerlain discussion

That blue gloss can stay right there. It's all kinds of gross because it's so sheer. Yuck.
That sounds nice, I don't need it to be like crazy opaque, just sheer but pigmented I guess. I really like the feel of the Terracotta glosses from last year's summer collection but I rarely end up using them because they are so sheer they don't do much.

Yeah it sounds icky...I seriously think the only reason it exists is because it's the right shade of blue in the tube to go with the other things from the collection, but not actually as a usable item lol

I guess the blue gloss is OK if it actually works to make teeth whiter. I don't need to go that extra step, so it's definitely not worth the money for me. I was hoping for a pigmented blue in the great terracotta gloss formula. Oh, well. The peachy pink from this collection will definitely work on it's own. I didn't buy any last year b/c they seemed so sheer but this one is definitely better.

^^ Thanks. I have my eyes on the blue and the coral pink glosses. I thought I will pass the pink one and get the blue since it is more unique, but I guess I have to decide when I see them in person. Did you get anything else?

I love Karla's swatches, but I have to say that some of them look cooler/ pinker in her photos than they did when I swatched them. The one where I really noticed it was with Rose Imperiale, which looks light pink in her shot, but showed very much pink-coral (and not all that light) on me. Some of the others look fine, though... Weird...

Anyway, I took a couple of shots of most of them yesterday. Here goes:

Left column (top to bottom): Pour Troubler, Rose Imperiale (looks more pink here, right?), Mi-Mai
Right column (to to bottom, not counting the two you can barely see on top): Rose Pompon, A la Parisienne, Rouge de Damas

Left column: Pour Troubler, Rose Imperiale (now can you see the coral? It changes in the light)
Right Column: Pamplune, Pao Rosa, Rose Pompon, A la Parisienne

I think it's possible that Karla did a single pass on her swatches, whereas I did a couple to build colour (because that's how I'd wear them). Personal must-haves: Rose Imperiale, Pao Rosa, either Rouge Damas or Pour Troubler (don't really need both).

Jardin de Bagatelle was so sheer it wouldn't even show up on me. Extrait de Rose and Rose Pompon are very pretty, but sheerer than the others.

I'm surprised that they keep being described as frosty, because none of them read like a traditional frost to my eye. Pao Rosa definitely has some shimmer, but even then I wouldn't call it frosty. The others were less shimmery.

The do feel lovely and creamy. I can't wait to have more cash, so I can pick some up...

How are woc liking sun in the city is it a must have. I finally was able to grab the guerlain cruel gardenia meteorites from Norstrom after tremendous stalking so I do not want to miss on something else before it is gone.

katred - Thanks for the description and swatches. They haven't launch at my counters, but not long now as I received a text message saying we get 2 for the price of 1 from now until 13 May. So what is the difference between them and the original RA? Are they more sheer but buildable? I didn't end up with a single one of the RA, only got a mini RA as a gwp.

Thanks!

I also have swatches of the eyeshadow quad on my blog, just click on the link in my signature. I've found the pink shade quite powdery and the coral not very smooth actually, it has quite a poor colour pay off imo. I can't wait to see the rest of the collection in person.

On another note, I swatched all the Shine Automatiques today and the reds especially are beautiful! I haven't picked up any yet (other than #200 Sous Le Vent which I have also reviewed on my blog if you're interested), but I will have some House of Fraser vouchers soon and I'll pick a couple of them up for sure. :) Some of the darker pinks are lovely too.

I dont know but the bronzer looks too orange on Temptalia. But I love the pouch.

I am most likely getting the quad, the more I look at the looks people do with it the more I like it. I tried to replicate it using pink from Les Roses quad and Chanel's Tiger Lily, but that is orange and not coral, it is as close as I can go with my current stash.
This Too Faces new palette seems to have similar combo to the quad.

I wast the brush just because of the color combo and will probably get the pearls also. The box is just too cute.

I saw the bronzer last Saturday... I love the color on the pan, but sadly it doesn't show up at all on me when I swatched it :-(. I think it's the exact same color as my skin. Tried to swirl all the color together but it doesn't work either. Oh well :p

Yes...it really does!
But in other swatches it did not that orange....that is why I am not sure whether to get it or not.

That's probably because she tends to overdo cheek and lip products and her lighting is a bit harsh too. Can you not swatch it yourself before buying?

Yes,that could be the reason!

Unfortunatly I do not have the chance to swatch it myself.I would have to order online.

I do so much love the packaging and the design of the powder. And I love Guerlain powders!

Oh well,I should get it otherwise I might regret it later.

I went to the counter yesterday.

I got the Meteorites pearls, the blue brush and the quad. I went before to Sepfora and swatched the Summer eye palette, the coral shadows are very close but I know I would like Guerlain texture and blendability better. I really got the quad just becuse of the coral color. Can't wait to wear it.

The brush is very nice but way more scratchy than some brushes I own (Tom Ford). But it will be cute to carry around in my bag.

Can not comment on the pearls yet as I need to try them couple of times, these are my first Meteorites pearls. But they are very cute.

I was on the fence about the bronzing powder, it is really a bit orange, blended swatch is more orange than Aurora. And for some reason I was not smitten by the design. Loved to pouch. Loved how it looked on me but it was hard to tell in store lighting how it will look outside. And I dont need another blushy bronzer as I have so many. I need traditional brown bronzer. I am holding off for now.

I swatched it on my skin and I did not like it, it was too orange, just the bronzer part. To be fair I must say that a lot of bronzers turn orange on me, so ymmv. Also I thought it was a bit too glittery compared to the Chanel bronzer.

I bought it on Saturday.

I haven't tried it on my face, though, just swatched it instore. It's a blushy bronzer - or bronzy blusher - for sure, but I love the design, and the swatch on my hand was a nice corally-orange that normally suits me very well and screams summer. So I got it. (And I wanted to treat myself.)

I've also to agree that Christine piles products on - maybe that we can see the colors better? But things never look like that on me.

Btw, I got the orangey gloss, and it very nearly is a dupe to Cinestyle (Reel Sexy)...

I have the same problem....now I am very unsure again.

Anneri describes it as a "corally-orange" and that sounds awesome. But it might turn more orange than coral on me again....

It is really not easy to make a decision

It is much harder to catch the colors with a cam when they are swatched lighter.

Anneri.....enjoy your new goodies!
